Last Week
So I now have about five days left or something. Basically all I am doing now is just finishing up the last few things, and getting ready as I can to head home. On Saturday morning, I will probably preach to the guys of the CLA FC one last time, and then on Sunday, we have the end of the Ikivuguto carton contest. Now I am sure you're wondering what on earth that is. Well Ikivuguto is this pulpy milk that you can buy that is made here in Rwanda, and I guess ikivuguto is just the kinyarwanda name for it. But we started a kid's contest a while ago in which they would get one of these cartons and collect coins in them that would all go towards the development of the new Church site. So the contest is over, and I get to go to the front of the Church this Sunday morning with Sherry Komant and announce the winners. So that should be pretty fun. I've never really gotten to go to the front of the Church on Sunday morning very often here, except for last week and certainly this week. So I am feeling very special as of late.
On that note of feeling very special as of late, I had that Kid's Leader's meeting this last Friday night. I thought in my mind it was going to be a very normal meeting, but it turned out actually to be a more of a Drew Appreciation night. All the Kid's Leaders decided that they were going to make it a kind of surprise going away party for me instead. So that was really awesome. We did a bunch of dumb little games at first, and then we went around the room and all the leaders said whatever they had to say to me in thanks for all that I have done here. It was breath taking to say in the least. I was not expecting this, and I certainly felt very loved and appreciated afterwards. We still did a little bit of meeting stuff, because I had a few things I wanted to say. But basically the rest of it was the majority, and the acutal meeting was hugely fast-tracked at the end.
Color Wars went pretty well this lasst Sunday, though something was a little different than last time. Perhaps it was because there were more kids, and so less space. Perhaps it was kids knowing the game well, or just over competiveness or something. I'm not sure, but it didn't go as well this time. It was still huge fun, and all the kids had a lot of fun, but there was just a lot less flag capturing this time than last time. There was a lot of kids guarding their flags too much, people cheating, teams all rushing to their flag when someone from the other team was in their area, etc. Some of these things just really take away from the fun a lot, so I was going around most of the time settling arguments and telling people not to cheat, guard, etc. Still lots of fun, and it went pretty well too.
In my last week, besides ministry stuff left over, I need to head to the souvenir market on Saturday, I need to pack (which I probably won't start until Monday), I need to clean my place, badly. Really  not that much though. Most of it is now just a waiting thing, finishing up all I have to do, but basically just waiting to come home. I know by how fast the rest of this has all gone, before I even know it I'll be back in Canada. I almost don't want to close my eyes, because if I do, when I open them Rwanda might already be gone. It actually feels like it's going that fast just about. But anyways, that's about it for now. That's where I am. I should be having some presentation thing at my Church in a few weeks sometime going over my whole year mission here in Rwanda. Anyone reading this is more than welcome. Thank you for all your reading, prayers, thoughts and everything else. This will probably be my last rwanda-written journal entry, but I should maybe have one more after I get home. I hope you've enjoyed them. They have been a good way for me to express myself, as well as a good way for people to get what I'm feeling and thinking and all as well. Thank you all again, I'll see you all soon, and God bless you!
