To me, I personaly think Basura is one of those bands that will never be fully understood. their name says it al, TRASH
Basura's last CD didnt leave my CD player for a very long time, they really have taken their music to the next level with this one. The songs are better, the production is better, and the musicianship has improved a lot. One of my favorites about this band is the vocals, they're the first sounds on this disc, which open the song "Cookie Monster"
A song about the cookie monster vocalist. "Bjork" was also on the last demo, but this one sounds better, I still perfer the older version. "The Mongols" is one of the songs that really stands out, with many differant changes lasting around six minutes. Basura seemd to have tuned to B or A. It sounds really fuckin' low. Next is "Pills and Merinade" which I believe is sung in spanish, since the CD doesnt include a lyric, im not 100% sure. This song is one of my favorites, it has some crazy vocals that are doubled up, making Peter (vocals) sounds just like a monster. They couldnt have ended this disc any better "the 7th Year" was a suprise to me, its unlike anything they've done before,Skye (drums) even does a little drum solo thing at one time, and Peter even does some hardcore shouts. This is a great CD from Basura, I will give this a 9.5 stars (where is Conan??) Basura only gets better!!!
