If you hope to strengthen your desire, you need to pursue the revelation of the vision, the revelation of God's economy, the revelation of church history, concerning the present move of this new man, the revelation concerning the Lord's commission, all of which the young people need. On the other hand, there is the question of the two-year training. The Lord never forces people to serve Him lifetime, but if you are a person who loves Him, whether you go full-time or on-job, since you are in the Lord's recovery, you need to have training. Today even if you love your country or your job, you need to have training; how much more if you love our Lord and His recovery, can you not go through training?
IV. HAVING THE DESIRE BUT DOES NOT HAVE THE EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT (7%)
For you to serve happily, serving to the point where God can fully commission you, you need to equip yourself. It would seem that there will be a delay for two years, but it is really to prepare your lifetime with good character, understanding, good expression, and good equipping. We never look down on people with low education. But in the matter of serving the Lord full-time, there is really the need for certain kind of vessels. And these vessels are very related to the amount of understanding, the manner of dispensing Christ, and the understanding and the executing of the building blueprint. If you have no way to attain higher studies but want to serve, you can still diligently serve the Lord in your locality.
V. CONSIDERING TO STUDY FIRST ( %)
If you have decided to serve the Lord for life, come out as early as you graduate from college, absolutely serving the Lord. If you are only prepared for two years, there is a question of working in the future. You can consider your education.
VI. CONCERNING NORMAL COLLEGES & MILITARY ACADEMY, THERE'S A PROBLEM OF SERVICE
For example if you come out from a medical college, what will you do? First, what is your desire? Some people may perhaps want to be a doctor for a lifetime but hoping to come out for one year to be trained, this desire is very good. But in the viewpoint of the training's consideration, there is a shortage in value. Because training halfway, you will have no opportunity to go to the villages, to practice and to digest what is gained in the training, the training would not be complete. We hope that the people nurtured forth by this training, who have passed through practice, will become beneficial to the church far exceeding the rest. For your training to be complete, includes your practicum. This is the complete training. Even if you will be a teacher, you must serve the Lord terribly, giving all the rest of the time to Him. You should even give Him the spare time in the campus, using it for sowing. Your living and action must be equal to a full-timer's. In the second year, although the training has no demand on you, except before school opening, you yourself need to have a strong desire, that is, I desire to be according to the Lord's need today and in the same way be sent to the villages to have a part in the village propagation and practice together with the full-time brothers and sisters.
VII. DESIRING TO FIRST FINISH STUDIES ABROAD, TO STRENGTHEN ENGLISH PROFICIENCY, AND TO ENLARGE FELLOWSHIP, THEN RETURN AND SERVE THE LORD
Serving the Lord must be without delay. Because we do no know how much opportunity we have in a lifetime to serve Him. Second, a person who has a heart to serve the Lord does not have to study language or enlarge fellowship. This kind of consideration is not a problem, you only need to have a determined will and not to change halfway. On the other hand, first be trained in truth, life and service, be developed by the norms and not be the opposite of the beginning. Third, in the Bible, when a person told the Lord, "O Lord, I will follow You, but permit me to say farewell to my house," the Lord said that no one who puts his hand on the plow and looks behind is fit for the kingdom of God. To serve the Lord, the moment you see the best, you need to jump right in.
VIII. NOT HAVING A CLEAR CALLING FROM THE LORD
Do you really have a longing deep within? If you say, very much. This longing is the Lord's calling. You need to know, for a person to have such a desire to serve the Lord is not common. For a person to have this desire means the Lord has been moving within him. Philippians 2 says, your willing is God's operation within you for His good pleasure. The most accurate case is Peter, whose time of salvation is the time of his being called. To all the people in the New Testament, the time of their salvation is also the time of their being called.
IX. NOT EQUIPPED WITH THE TRUTH AND ONE'S LIFE IS NOT MATURE ENOUGH
The training is for these kinds of people. It is because you are not equipped with the truth and not mature enough in life that you need training. The emphasis of the training is to learn the norms (principles) and not much on equipping. In other words, your being equipped more or less is not a big problem. Because what the training will give is norms, so that in your lifetime you will equip yourself according to the norms.
X. UNABLE TO COPE PHYSICALLY
The training is like the military training, for the demand is strict. Serving the Lord is strict in the same way, always needing physical jumping out and running back. The whole training will be affected if you have difficulty in movement. Therefore in this aspect please understand. Because the pressures in the training are heavy, if you cannot bear them, it is better to remain in the church life and serve the Lord by following the church and receive the same reward. If you do not have such a great problem, then prepare in these two aspects, normalize your life as early as possible. The reason a person's health is not good is because the daily living is not normal and state of the body is directly related to the heart. Therefore exercise your spirit and your body will also be adjusted.
XI. AFRAID OF NOT BEING ABLE TO COPE
The training is to train us to a point that we "cannot cope" that we cannot depend on ourselves and only live by Christ. It is because we are unable to cope that we may realize how precious Christ is! We need to let ourselves be trained to a certain degree that we can say not I but Christ. The Lord never asks us to cope by ourselves. Your self needs to be put on the cross. The training is to train you to realize that you are not able and drop yourself; to train you to the point that you live by Christ, is discouraged with yourself, and truly cannot cope. This is the training. You only need to consecrate, and give yourself to the Lord of the training. This is enough. He will use His grace to personally train you.
XII. NOT BEING SO CLEAR ABOUT THE TRAINING, DO NOT HAVE MUCH FEELINGS
This training basically has a few points. First, the need for training. Second, the contents of the training. Third, our experience, how do we passed through the training and what have we gained? That is the result. Concerning the need for training, the Bible mainly mentions certain aspects. The first is in Titus 2:11, God will personally use grace to train us. The word "teach" is to train. To train us that we may live a godly life in this age. Godly life here means God's children need to be trained. But God uses His grace to train us. Learning to live out God in our living needs training. First Timothy 4:7-8 also mention that our spirit, soul and body need training. Bodily exercise is profitable for a little, only godliness is profitable for all things. This refers to exercising the "spirit." Of course there is Paul in Acts 24 saying, "I exercise myself to be always without offense in my conscience before God and man." Spiritual things has no cheap way, it definitely needs to pass through teaching and a long process of exercise. For the rest, you can seek for fellowship, listen to the feelings and experiences of those trained before, the real changes that happened before and after the training, how much they came to know themselves, what defense they used to fight against the enemy, and what kind of appreciation they have toward the Lord.
XIII. THE WORLD'S ENCUMBRANCE
I don't know how much worldly encumbrance a student has. Maybe there are some loves or pursuits we cannot drop. The Lord does not strip you of your pursuit in the world, but when you see the best, you will spontaneously throw away the rest.
