The strength of all our armed forces and the morale of all our troops should be a high priority to us all. These are the men and women who, if and when the time comes, defends our nation and our freedoms and liberties. I will not continually deploy our troops to police other nations because that would lower morale. I will keep our armed forces ready for action and will not hesitate if our national interests are at stake. As far as gays in the military are concerned, it comes down to two approaches: 1) Don't ask, don't tell; or 2) Go home. I think that we should increase the pay of these men and women who love our nation and would die for it. We should also invest in new weapons research, so that if and when the time comes, we can fight a twenty first century war with twenty first century weapons. I would also allow the generals to fight the war as necessary, whether or not the right thing to do in the war is the "right thing" politically. If we have a strong military, we will easily be able to defend ourselves against rouge states and leaders who would attack us and wish us harm.
