People say that movies are the perverted look into how soldiers, cops, ect. do their jobs. There's a particular movie that I'd like to point out. Platoon. This movie shows not the vietnam conflict, but the conflict within ourselves, and our inability to bend for one another. Two Sargeants, portrayed by Wilem Defoe and Tom Berenger, vie for control of a platoon. In certain ways, this conflict is just the same as the one between myself, Denso, and Drake. In the beginning, Drake played a female character. Hey, that's cool, I played a female character a few times. What isnt cool...? Drake told me he was female IRL, and my character ends up with his character... He situates himself as the leader of the PNW community. ONLY THEN does he reveal the truth. He's a man IRL. And here I am... Standing alone... Because of him, I lost my respect, and my standing among everyone. I put off other girls because I had an interest in him, when he was lying to me. I ask him why he did that to me, later on... There was no maniacle plan behind it... Denso had white hair. That's sexy. That's why I was lied to, and hurt so badly. That's how all this began. My fight against him, however, became a fight for the people when he started power tripping.
The first thing I'd like to point out is the old guidelines. www.scottyfox.com/wasteland. Drake claims that his rules were derived from these, but I see only small similarities. Scotty assumed we were all responsible roleplayers, and pretty much let us deal with our own problems. You couldnt dance around Scotty's guidelines. You were either kosher, or you werent. With Drake's rules, I see ways to be something without being what he listed, or whatever. Scotty had GUIDElines. And that's what they should be. They should GUIDE the player. They shouldnt make him feel inferior or limited. What's the point in roleplaying if you cant use oyur imagination.

It has nothing to do with PNW/WL/GC... However, it does point out all the problems. Drake has the BoS as a military force, which they ARE NOT. In the games, they call on the player to do things. I.E. the Mutant Army, the Master. If they were such a righteous Military Force, they would have done it themselves. That's why no fallout fan likes to talk about Tactics.
When was the last time Drake let you democratically vote on something? What's this I spy on the forums? An OFFICIAL poll? Wow, that sounds so important! What...? Weirdest character I've ever had...? Well... That sounds fun... But hardly worthy of the title, "Official." The FEV poll is more worthy of a sticky than that... Mm, what's this? changing the TOWN NAME!? Wow, that's worthy of a democratic vote, let's go see what happened, kids! A close vote of 9 to 10, it stays the same. Most of you probably dont know, but Ilara named the town before alot of you even knew what PNW was. =] Let's see... Jon misses Scotty. He probably got banned from the forums. Tata ADMIRABLY stood against Drake's obvious dictator status. Though, he probably got chewed out in the mod forums. And some very fine names were produced from Tata. I see one that's worthy of the Black Isle tag, Nashkel, from the popular Baldurs Gate. Nashkel was a mining camp on the border of Amn, if I remember correctly. Jacksonville? That's cool. I was born in Jackson, Mississippi. Pretty close to the same name. =]
Next, I have a quote or two. The people will remain anonymous, for fear of retaliation from Drake. "I dont like the idea of letting Drake get all the cool toys, while I'm stuck with 'hand-me-downs,' so to speak." Hm. Someone affiliated with Drake gets and M1A2 Abrams, the most powerful tank today. Yet, he would only allow Lehanna's faction a T-62, or something along those lines. That particular line of tank is no match for an M1A2 Abrams. To tell you the truth, a WWII Sherman could hold it's own against it. "No, I have to suck up to Drake to get my [edit] passed." I shouldnt have to say anything about this, but I will. Why must you suck up to him to get something passed? That doesnt sound too fair, does it? If you dont get along, you dont get along... That shouldnt hinder RP.
Next, I'd like to congradulate the mod team. In their need to show power, they've struck fear in the hearts of the regular RPer. The regular RPer is now afraid to complain to or infront of a mod... Congradulations. Nice job. Let's not forget who chose these mods.
All but two faction holders are mods. And one faction holder that isnt a mod, is allowed nothing to progress her faction.
I'm gonna take a wild guess at what Drake is thinking right now. "Well, I guess I'm gonna have to be more lenient." NO! Take away. Take away your friend's things. Xander is allowed a machine larger than the office buildings, and Nick has an uber character transformation, but we cant have even the simplest of Power Armor? That's not fair at all. If you give give give, it'll only be a pissing contest. And that isnt fun. Right now, your mods can dominate anyone in WL. Take away, and limit your mods. I see no problem with anyone else. Also, your mods should be guides for RPers. Not dominators. It's always nice to have a father figure, or a motherly figure around. Expect retorts and clever defenses from Drake and his mod crew.
Arrogance is a common plague in WL. It was also a common plague in PNW, and probably would have been, in Grace. Well, aint that dandy. No, I wont take legal action. Your, the reader's reaction will be all the action I want. Drake and I have butted heads numerous times... Why doesnt he ever quote anything I say...? Probably because it's not as bad as what he says.
Sancho, I know what was said. When that thing between Anna and me happened, you said it was inevitable. They never would have worked out. Suddenly, you get wind of something I "said." Of course Nick's gonna say something like that... Ask him how much he hates me. For those of you who dont know what I'm talking about, it's for the best.
Looking back on that conversation I see something that's constant from him, when he cant dig himself out of a hole. "Oh well." Emmy and I usually do laugh now. My problems with her and the choices she makes are over. I've grown to see that she belongs to no one. And I'm glad she didnt see things my way... My life wouldnt be so great, right now. My life is good and I'm still fighting Drake? I cant even get in the dream anymore, and I'm still fighting him? I'm fighting for you, the people. The people he has no regard for. If you're not a mod, or if you dont have a faction, you amount to a pile of shit, according to him. How often do you non-mod members or non-faction holders get to participate in something? You dont get to participate because you dont want to hold a faction?
Also, Drake needs to research Maks' location geographically. There are industrial districts all around. So the next time he says you dont have the resources, just bring that up. After all... It's realism he keeps bitching about, right?
I'd rather have Xander be a mod than Apostle. That's just craptastic. You people keep count of how many times he abuses his power, and tell me, okay? Or hey, every time he doesnt do anything about a craptastic situation. Ask yourself why I'm not a mod. Seems like I'm bringing up an assload of points, hm? Drake and I dont get along... Awww... I'm sure president Bush doesnt get along with lots of people, but they still hold points of office. They're still important. Their opinions count. No, I'll tell you the real problem. Drake sees that I'M actually Christopher Stone, the American rebel fighting against communism and oppression. I think it really bunches his panties.
And someone just brought something to my attention. If you speak out, you get banned for "Bitching too much." This is true. Maybe I did bitch too much... Or... The things I said and the points I brought up is what Drake called "Bitching." All the points in the previous installment. He calls it "bitching," but he MEANS to say, "Bitching because I dont think you're as good as the other person."

I'm going to write more about Drake and how he likes to break the rules he set in stone.
A friend of mine wanted to make a sniper character. He went to ask Drake, to make sure it was okay and see if there were any limits on the rifle. Drake told him he couldnt have a sniper character. Okay... That's cool. I can see the downsides to this, you know? Almost two days later, Drake brings in a sniper character that was from the BoS. I dont give a flying MF where he's from. No sniper character means no sniper character. Period. Drake broke his own rule, here. He even tried to kill someone without their consent, a part of his rules that stands out like a sore thumb. Drake banned BFG's (Big Fucking Guns) before he ever revealed to us that he was a man IRL. The sniper character had a minigun backup, which was also RPed with and used to try and kill someone. In a set RP, I can understand this allowance, even on his own part. But this was completely random from what I'm told.
No Energy weapons. What's that Tata? An energy weapon? Well, you're a mod. It's okay. Tata hasnt given me a plausable explantion for why he gets to use an energy weapon. Because he based his character on a popular Black Mesa scientist? Um... No. Drake's stolen character, "Christopher Stone," has a weapons cache. So did Denso... The difference? I worked my ass off from day one to gain everything I claimed I had. Drake just SAYS he has it, and it's magically there. Somehow, that doesnt quite turn my screw. Back in the day, you could kill without question. You had to keep your cool to keep from pissing anyone off, like you would if it were real. Now, everyone plays the same cliche'd badass wannabe. It's been done folks, try something else. As a matter of fact, I was the first to do it. The entire time PNW was under ScottyFox, I was the only person that had the same character they started with. The ones I've killed bitch and whine and complain about me twinking. Funny how they DIDNT bitch and whine when their character was catching bullets in his teeth.

Little is know, but I do know that my reasons for writing this peice are finished. Drake has given PNW back to Scotty, like a broken toy he no longer wants. I'll conclude by saying that even after he owned PNW for nearly six months, he never had as big of an impact as I did. Hopefully, things will go back to normal, and my friends will return. This just goes to show, violence and hate can be an answer if handled correctly.
