Pumping up an assault, infecting the enemy, and wreaking havoc - just what the Doc ordered!

Wreak Havoc!

Make your team stronger

Help out during combat.
As a medic, you hopefully won't be going up against soldeirs and HW guys often.  A lot of the time you will find yourself as an ignored spectator during large/small firefights.  Well don't just stand there!
For firefights that occur in a single room, try to throw a concussion grenade so it dizzys the view of enemies.  This is devestating to HW guys and soldiers- they are rendered virtually useless for about 15 seconds and become easy killz for your team.  Also, as soon as the grenade dizzys the opponent, try to sneak in and heal your teammate(s) as much as possible.  Dont worry if you get hit- just run away and you will heal yourself gradually.
A different approach is needed for engagments that take place in large areas - such as bridges between forts.  The first thing you will want to do is concussion jump up to the enemy sniper deck and harass any of the snipers up there, because HW guys and soldiers are easy targets.  After spending some time on the deck, look to see if the fighting is still going on.  If it is, drop in and try to infect at least one of the enemies.  As an alternative to jumping to the sniper deck as earlier mentioned, you can do this:  are there any HW guys on your team in this battle?  If so, get behind them and crouch.  Heal them constantly, leaving their shadow only when you see some rockets and/or grenades flying your way.  This will turn the enemy green with envy when their health starts to decline and they are forced to retreat.

Time your team's assaults.
Hang out around the entrance to the enemy base.  Have a group of teammates meet you at the entrance. Once all of you are in a group, heal all of them to the maximum health.  Then have them assualt the main part of the base.  They will probably MESS up the enemy defense real good-  they will have up to 150% more health than their enemy counterparts.  This tactic works especially well on 2fort and Rock 2, mainly because sentry guns usually are not by the entrance or in the room proceeding it.

Flag Mission
You jump to the enemy's base, look around for any snipers, and stroll into the main part of their base.  You waltz down the ramp to the flagroom, where you walk around the corner - only to get cut up an assault cannon and gibbed by a sentry.  Sometimes, the whole enemy team is by the flag!  After several frustrating rushes, each followed by a refreshing trip back to your repsawn, you will have to think about what your doing.  Lets say they have 2 soldiers and a HW guy by the flag.  Before confronting the soldier, prime your concussion grenade.  Then round the corner and let him have it.  Skip past this enemy and head for the HW guy.  Yes, not the flag, the HW guy.  Concussion him as well, and INFECT him.  Once the enemy soldiers hear the fighting, they will come see it, -  and get infected as well.  Try to escape, if you dont o well - just type a couple messeges telling your entire team to rush because the enemy is weak with infection.  Trust me, they will be more than happy to finish off those skill-less campers.

Don't let the snipers dictate the game.
With the new patch making sniper stronger, there seems to be a huge amount of snipers on certain maps, especially 2FORT.  Ever since the patch came out, I have run into some very skilled snipers- it is not rare if I join a 2FORT game where snipers are dominating the game.  As a medic, it is your duty to disrupt the enemy snipers.  First, get a rough idea of how many snipers are ob the other team.  Then, try conc jumping to the sniper deck.  Since their is usually a sniper on each side of the little "hut" (which houses the capture point), pick one of the side of the hut to run to and lob grenade the other side.  First move is too infect the sniper.  But you must keep moving- with the new patch many snipers can spin around and gib you from point blank range.  After infecting, circle the sniper and get out your supernailer.  The supernailer?  Yes, that isn'yt a typo.  After all the praise the shotgun gets as the weaponb of choice, you have to aim it and reload.  The nailer can be fired constantly, and it provides much more havov and confusion for the sniper.  Firing this into the sniper might nort kil him, that's ok (the infection is working its way through his body).  While you are pumping nail into the sniper, doen forget about the sniper(s) on the other side of the "hut" .  That said, prime a normal grenade while you are shooting your nailer.  Dont throw the grenade- all you have to do is let it go, so it bounces around at the feet of the sniper you are tring to kill.  Then, make a dash for the sniper(s) on the other side of the hut.  As you start to shoot the other sniper(s), the grenade that you dropped on the other side will go off, killing the sniper you were previously attacking.  From this point on, both the shotgun and the nailer are acceptable.  Try not to waste your grenades.  If you are low and health, infecting and running is your best bet by far.

Sentry Gun Advice
One of the most common mistakes made by all offensive classes in geberal is that as soon as they see a sentry, they prime their regular grenades and start chucking.  This may work- but there is a bertter strategy.  First, fire a couple of shotie rounds into or by the sentry.  If the engy who built the sentry is somewhat knowledgeable, he will hear/see the shotgun blasts, and he will hurry over to repair it.  Now prime your grenade. Take out the engy- not the sentry.  After the engy is gone, you can take out the Sentry with your nailer.  By the time the engy gets back from the respawn, all that will be left is a big black spot on the floor, and possibly a little present as well (a taunt decal, prehaps??)

Sabotage the other team!
W
reak havoc.  You have got to do whatever it takes to get into the minds of the other team.
Find the best player on the other team and run up to him.  Throw a concussion grenade by him so he cant aim.  Wait about 15 seconds, and then do it again.  And again, and again; until you run out of grenades. (while you are at it throw in some hand grenades for good measure).
Often times on 2fort, you will try to infect some snipers, and they will dash for the back respawn door.  Perfect, just follow them inside.  Prime all of your hand grenades, and let them go in rapid succession.  Then turn hte corner, and hurry to the drop so you avoid the auto turret.  Whenever I get this oppurtunity, I almost always come out with at least two kills.

Spread your love baby!
What is small and lacking in fire-power that makes Soldiers and Demomen alike run for their lives?  The correct answer to that would be the Medic's one-of-a-kind weapon, the Medikit.  Whoever though something so small could inspire so much fear and chaos?  Because the medikit is such a valuable weapon, you have to learn to use it to its full potential- and by that I mean infecting ANY enemy within sight.
The medikit and your concussion grenades are a fatal combination for enemies that you encounter one-on-one.  This especially true with HW guys.  As soon as you see one of these moving tanks, dash for some obstacle or corner that will give you protection from the HW;s assualt cannon.  Then, prime your concussion, and wait a couple of moments.  Then, jump out at the HW guy and let the grenade go so it dizzys him silly.  Now, simply run up to him and infect him.  You will take some damage- just run away and you wiill heal yourself.
Dont even think of wasting concussions on anything lower than a Pyro.  Any snipers that you find on the enemy sniper deck are easy infectees.  Be mindful that some snipers backup while you are charging at them and they will hurl a greande at you so it explodes right away.  Just hide behind something until you hear the grenade explode, and then you can resume your bum-rush.  Engineers are also easy infectees beacuse they are often preoccupied with maintaining their sentry guns.  Watch out for skilled engineers who know how to use their EMP's.  If one of these guys keeps killing you, make sure to unload all your extra ammo before confronting him the next time; this will decrease the effect of him EMP's greatly.  Medics cant be infected - it is NUMBER 1 PRIORITY to take out enemy docs. I recommend a well-timed hand grenade and some super nail gun to put him back in his respawn for sure.

Pick your Battles
As a Medic, you have to realize that you are a medium class.  Direct confrontations with soldiers, HW guys, and even pyros sometimes are not advised.  Luckily, Medics share a unique ability with Engineers; not only can they see the health of their teammates, but they can see the health on their enemies.  This is an extremly useful tool.  Suppose you connfront a soldier on one of the WELL bridges.  Look at him; if his health is under 30% you should try to kill him outright with guns.  If he is anywhere from 50-70%, only take him on if you have at least one regular grenade in your disposal.  One well placed grenade should drop him to at least 30%, and your gats can do the job from here.  If the soldier is confronted with more than 80% heallth, it is wise just to run away, dodging his rockets in the process.  You could waste all your hand grenades tring to kill him, but it is much safer just to run away, especially if you are not at 100% health and armor.
HW guys are another very different matter.  It seems as though Valve made the HW's assault cannon a much deadlier weapon in the new patch- the damage after one second of firing skyrockets and will easily kill you if you can't find cover.  After you find an enemy HW guy, back up around any corner.  Use any cover available.  Here, you have to choices.  Hide by the corner.  When he turns the corner run past him and infect him if you can (remember it takes a second for the assault cannon to get fired up.)  If you have the luxury of a concussion grenade, by all means let him have it- but be aware that if you are still close (4-8 game steps) to him he can still tear you up pretty bad.   Here is a hanfy trick on the bridge, provided you have some concs in your disposal.  Suppose you run out of your respawn on 2FORT, turn the corner, and walk off the snier nest.  Well, on the other side of the bridge is a HW guy.  There is no way that you will be able to run past him, so the only full cover you have is to retreat, and you could still take some major damage by doing that.  Instead, try this:  the 2fort bridge has a ledge on each side.  At the end of each bridge, this ledge becones a little higher.  Crouch behind it; it will provide some cover against the murderous assault cannon fire.  As soon as you crouch, prime your conc grenade.  He will be firing at you, but it wont hit u much.  Once the grenade is about to go off, strafe out and heave the grenade toward the HW guy.  Now run up to him, infect his fatass, and run toward the entrance to the enemy base.
