| In 1967, the U.S. Surpreme Court struck down Virginia's anti-miscegination laws. The court received into evidence, research by Robert Stuckert, showing that a large percentage of white Americans have at least one black American ancestor. This �one black American ancestor� amounts to a miniscule part of any given white person�s genetic background. The research, done in the early 1900�s, estimated about 20% or so of the white American population had an average of 3% to 5% genes of African origin. Assuming random mate selection within the white population and using population statistics to extrapolate 75 years or so to the present, we are likely to find that the many white Americans have a black American ancestor. If one then considers other "non-white" ancestry, the unavoidable conclusion is that "pure" white Americans are now a minority. |
