By the way, Steve Lapping's posting about walking down Rat's Alley brought back a lot of odd memories--I lived at #49 Via Petrarca and occasionally took that back alley as a shortcut home from FSHS on Via Manzoni. The alley was VERY creepy at night and sometimes we'd look out from the back windows of our apartment and watch these burglars hop over the wall and try to break into the apartments below. Once my mom saw one guy and nearly beaned him with a flower pot, dropped from our apartment four stories above. It missed him by a couple feet, but I never saw anyone
move so fast to get out of there as he did after that. Another weird Napoli flashback... Ciao! 06/06

Steve Lapping 74 [email protected] Paul Le Bleu - I graduated with Linda Le Bleu in 74 (sister?)  She didn't want to wear her glasses so she put her hand on my shoulder as we processed so she wouldn't trip over something.  I remember that John O'Brian gave a great address to the graduating class to be ourselves, to be indiviuals.  I also remember the great sunsets you could catch behind the school looking down the hillside and the walk back home down Rat Alley to Via Petrarca.  I came to Napoli summer of 73 during a garbage workers strike.  Never in my wildest imagination would I ever thought that a city that looked and smelled that way would be such a magical experience.  I guess it is that combination of coming of age and living in such a unique place.
