Hey everyone, this is Kevin Fetzer (70-74). I am seeking some people from the past who often haunt my memory and occasionally pop up for a cameo appearance in my dreams. John Fidele, are you still alive? (if not, please disregard). Mark Murphy, where the hell are you? John Menese, I know where you are, and Kim Alonzo beware, he does still look like he did in high school. Mac Caruso, I don't know if you peruse this site, but we're due for our semi-annual phone call soon. Scott White, thanx for the photos and the maintenance of the site, how's your b-ball game. Dave Keller, what up homie? Miles (from nowhere) Aiken, are you out and about on the internet these days? Thanx for the fundementals of THE GAME, I still use them every day. Sinorita Duckworth, Como Esta? Como Es Su Pronunciacion of Espanol? Tom Morning, remember spanish class? Steve Altieri, turn the water off. Roland Maher, good to hear from you up in NH, hopefully we get together soon, I'm plann! ing on this next reunion. Freddie Altieri, still working at the library? pickin' up freshman? Mike Schwietzer, Where are you? Mike Tighe, I know you're out there, will contact you someday. To Elenor Holsten (up there, looking down on us all) thanx for teaching me how to write and fostering my ability to do so. Ricky Slate - Sempre This. Hey, Wildcats. Dan Rich here, class of '67. Decided to post this 'cause I just saw a reference to the reunion in Vegas this October, and the sender isn't on the main email list. So, must have heard through the grapevine. And you know how grapevines can get? Originally planned as a reunion of classes '65 through '70. But we've been asked to expand it. The more the merrier we say. The dates are October 15-17. I'm kinda heading up the arrangements here in Dallas along with Jay Miller in California, Pat York in New Mexico and Cathy Cook Pawlitz in Missouri. Anyone wants to get added to the list, please email me at [email protected]. Host hotel for the time being is the Gold Coast. Room rate is $70 per room, per night. So, get a roomie and it's $35. $20 buffet/dance planned for Saturday with entertainment provided by Ricky and the Red Streak. Me, I'm going Thursday and coming back on Monday. The Thursday and Sunday night hotel rates could approach $40 as those are DOW! M days for Vegas. And six to seven months out is NOT too early to book airfare. Final details are now being worked out as to how you go about booking your room, cut off dates, etc., but the hotel has agreed to block 180 rooms so far. Most of the 50-60 who have already committed are from '65-'69 and haven't seen each other since 1994. So it should be a blast. Anyway, want more details, email me! Know any others who are technologically challenged, let them know by phone. They can reach me at 214-520-1360 to get added to the snail mail list. Ciao, tutti! Dan [email protected] 3/99
Hi. This is Andrea Pursch.Does anyone out there remember any one of my three brothers: Joe, Brian, John? They attended 1970-73. I'll tell them about this site. Please email me though in the meantime at [email protected] and I'll forward any info on to them. And hey, maybe a younger brother or sister of yours will remember me! Where are the folks I knew in l973?? Tom carson/class of 1973 [email protected] 3/99
Thank-you, Dan, for devoting this page to FSHS/NAHS alumni. I think those of us who use this web page might want to consider putting together an award or plaque for Dan Conlon, Matt Knutson, and Scott White and others who have put together web pages similar to this for NAHS/FSHS alumni. Sherwin P. of the late 80s also has a fantastic web page mainly used by 90s and 2000s+ alumni. All of you are doing us a great service. So, thank-you very much for helping us keep in touch despite the distances in time and place. 3/99

Biology teacher, Mr. Keith Burton, was born January 26, 1924 in Des Moines, Iowa, and he died of cancer on March 30, 1982 in Los Angeles, California. The 1983 Naples American High School yearbook stated on page 126, "Elegance, dignity and good manners were important to him, and his students remember him as one who elicited high standards of performance. Most people who knew him were aware that the last part of his life revealed yet another dimension -- a man of quiet courage and spirit." 3/99

This is a great site. I scrolled through all the messages and remembered a few people (Nathan Fischer, Kim Appalado, Scott Haydon). I would love to hear from anyone who lived in Naples during the time I did 80-84. Some people I ran around with include Tracy Maher, Mary Mattox, Gail Montessa, Sarah Allen, John Trbovich, Jacob, Jennifer. Sorry I am going from memory and forgot some names. If you remember Ellie Reid please e-mail me at I would love to hear from you. [email protected] 3/99
GOOD NEWS!!!! Thank-you to Paige Parker'82 and to Heather M. Hohe-Palmer '86, I located Marise Perea '86 via email Marise emailed me and told me that the "rumor mill" which had stated that her older brother Eddie Perea '83 was deceased was incorrect and had confused him with another young man who had died in Naples before the Perea family had left Naples. So the good news is that Eddie Perea '83 is alive and well living in Sacramento, California and that he was married this past September. What wonderful news!!!! If you want to contact Eddie, you can do that through Marise, his sister. Email address was given above. Please pass on this information to other Naples alumni so that the rumor mill will be corrected... 3/99

If you go to the Naples American High School web page, you'll find information on the latest scoop on our alma mater and links to NSA & AFSouth (http://www.afsouth.nato.int/). Panorama newspaper had several articles pertaining to our alma mater NAHS (formerly FSHS). Two articles of interest had to do with disciplining current students at the high school. "Students Come Clean at Naples High" by J01 (SW) San Smithyman stated that NAHS recently conducted a student survey on students' use of tobacco, alcohol, and drugs and their feelings on gangs, cliques, and school climate. Current programs at NAHS include alcohol and drug abuse counseling (there's even an alcohol & drug counselor on staff), smoking cessation, support groups, preventative programs, and counseling services to children of alcoholic parents. Approximately 525 students completed the questionnaires with 400 surveys totally completely answered. 24% of students polled admitted to smoking cigarettes, 13% who ! smoke stated they smoked on student grounds (gee, when I was at FSHS, we had a school sanctioned smoking rail for students to smoke on grounds), 60 of 165 students who smoked stated they obtained their tobacco products off base, 37% of students stated they drank alcohol, 17% admitted to the use of illegal drugs (marijuana, hash, LSD, cocaine, heroin, Ecstasy were listed), 22% believed there were gangs at the school, 23% believed there were no gangs at the school, and 55% were clueless about gangs at the school. The second article, "Captain's Corner" was quite interesting... Apparently there is a "Civilian Misconduct Board" or CMB for short where civilians including high school students can be brought before the board and disciplined. Did you know that high school students who consistently misbehave or who misbehave once or twice in a serious manner will be brought before the CMB? The Captain has a school officer at NAHS. He is working with the school officer and the school pri! ncipal to identify the top ten "young adults" who most likely will be next in line for appearance at CMB... the school and parents have been ordered to prevent their appearance at CMB. The article was precipitated by four "young adults" from NAHS who were tried and found guilty by the CMB... for smoking dope in the school bathrooms, stealing from the school and "tagging" or making gang markings on the walls at school. Their punishment: Suspension from school and suspension of privileges such as not being admitted to Capodichino, Agnano, Carney Park, Pinetamare, or the Support Site. If the family lives on the Support Site, the "young adult" is to move off of the Support Site for the period of the suspension. Now did we have a CMB when we were in Naples - I sure don't remember one... I do remember students smoking at the smoking rail on school grounds with school personnel approval, parents on the school buses chaperoning students to/from school, students drinking heavily on the! weekends, and drugs being sold and used by students... 3/99
