Lodging for 2008 State Championship Tournament

The Days Inn Clearwater Central Motel at 2940 Gulf to Bay Blvd has been selected as the motel of choice for your stay during the state tournament. Special room rates have been arranged as follows:

 

Standard rooms (1-2 persons)   - $52.00 + 12% tax daily

Kitchen rooms (1-2 persons)     - $58.00 + 12% tax daily

Extra person                               - $6.00  + 12% tax daily

 

The Days Inn phone number is 727-799-0100. Ask for the Manager, Giulio Calandra and let him know you are with the horseshoe pitching association to get the special rate.

You can also call 800-799-0111 for reservations if you can’t call on the local number.

Guests will need to contact the motel themselves and reservations and must be held with a credit card. Cut off date for making reservations is 4/1/2008.

RV Accomodations:  The Clearwater Travel Resort at 2946 Gulf to Bay Blvd, which is located next door to the Days Inn Motel is available at the following rates for two people. All sites have full hookup with water, electric, and sewer.

Daily -             $40 per day   ($15 reservation deposit)

Weekly -         $235             ($50 reservation deposit)

Extra person - $1.50 per day

SENGER, Edward A. Sr. 90, of Clearwater, died Feb. 4, 2008. Survived by wife of 66 years, Merdze Lassman, of Erie, PA. Survived by sons, Edward Jr., Eugene; daughters, Roberta, Rebecca, Jacalyn; grandaughters, Hillary, Krista, Jamie; grandson, Jason; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Addison; brother, Joseph. Preceeded in death by grandson, Jonathan; brothers, Norbert and Richard. He moved to Clearwater in 1974, and retired from AMSCO in Erie, PA in 1983.

 

Ed joined the Clearwater Horseshoe Club in 1983 and played in sanctioned leagues and sanctioned tournaments all over the state. Ed served the Clearwater Club as Tournament Director for 15 years and he served as 4th V.P. of the FSHPA for several years. Ed was inducted into the FSHPA Hall of Fame in 1995. Ed remained a member of the Clearwater Horseshoe Club until his death, but was unable to pitch horseshoes the past several years. We are very saddened by Ed’s passing and will miss him very much.
