            The 2008 membership cards are now available. Please use the attached member application form to renew your card as soon as possible. You must have a 2008 card to enter tournaments starting on January 1^st. I would also like to remind you to get your five tournaments needed to enter the State Tournament. There are 35 tournaments scheduled before March 31^st to achieve the needed five.

            Tournament attendance has been down the last few years. The Executive Council realizes that the price of gas contributes to this factor. One suggestion is to car pool, another is to have your local club run more tournaments. The attendance may be lower but the club members will have the opportunity to pitch more.

            Ron Deckard, president of the Clearwater Club, host to this years State Tournament has informed the Executive Council of the progress their club has made for this tournament. Jim Smith will have the needed information posted on the web site. The Executive Council will meet again this January to finalize this tournament. All suggestions are welcome, contact a council member before this meeting.

            The annual Club Team Tournament will be held in Clearwater January 26^th. The council has made changes in the format in the effort to make this tournament fairer for all team entries. Support your club by being on a team and bring the “Traveling Trophy” to your home club to be displayed.

            Roberta and I would like to wish all of the membership a Happy and Healthy Holiday Season and will be looking forward to seeing you at the courts.

COMMENTS FROM THE THIRD VICE PRESIDENT

 

Just a reminder to all Tournament Directors, that I will start doing the Schedule of Tournaments for 2008 – 2009 after January 1st, 2008.  So if you want a special date send your Tournament Schedule in early.    We will do the Schedule of Tournaments the same as last year through  E-mail. 

 

My husband Bob and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a year filled with good health and happiness and many fun times with family and friends and lots of ringers.  Remember “A hug is a great gift…one size fits all.  It can be given for any occasion and it’s easy to exchange”.
