BACKGROUND AND OTHER INFORMATION
Born in the year 2005, his father, Hanz, was a German Naval officer before the formation of the UEO.  When Manfred was 3, he had a younger sister, Kathryn, born. His mother died in child birth. After his mothers death, Manfred's dad went into a depressed state, but later recovered. At age 17, Manfred decided to follow in his father's footsteps and become a Naval Officer. His brother also had decided to do this, but was already off in UEO training. At age 22, his 4th year in the Science College, the Berlin Riots of 2027 broke out. His sister was killed when police fired into a crowd of rioters with rubber bullets. One struck Kathryn in the head,and killed her instantly.

He attended the UEO academy, earning a Masters Degree in Oceanic Sciences, and a Bachelors Degree in Underwater Architecture. His first posting for the UEO was a patrol sub on the border of UEO and Macronesia.  After being promoted to Lieutenant, Manfred moved to the position as aid to an UEO admiral.  After a promotion to Lt. Commander, Manfred received his own command of a small patrol sub.  After his promotion to Commander, he was given the chance to Command the UEO Command Base 12, also having the seaQuest as his ship. A few short weeks after receiving this command, his brother was killed in a border skirmish with Chinasian subs. Aslo while aboard the base, Manfred became involved with the civilian doctor, Carla Seaforth. A few weeks before they were to marry, the seaQuest was destroyed after the crew had abandoned, stopping a Chinasian invasion. A few weeks later, Carla and Manfred were married.  Manfred has found out while aboard the base that he has a high ESP rating, not very common among the human population. He has no training in using this ability, but he is learning on his own. Following his marriage to Carla, they had a baby girl born to them, named Katrina, on Christmas Day.

Most of what Manfred does is usually kept in the seaQuest archives, filed under Classified as most of the seaQuest missions are just that. The most famous out of everything was the Eternal Blood war, which became World War III. The UEO had to stem the advances of a group called the Eternal Blood, who claimed most of Europe as their homeland. Europe was part of the UEO, so the UEO, and even Chinasia, entered the war to stop the advance of these technologically advanced peoples of Earth.

Further missions ensued, and on one mission when he was rescuing Carla, Manfred's father was killed, saving her and their unborn baby. Manfred was unable to get to him in time to save his life, although the threat from Sirex was over, as a security officer killed the diabolical scientist.

On Feburary 1st, 2040, Josiah was born to Manfred and Carla, their first son. The two were very happy to have the new edition to the family after they returned saftely to the seaQuest, and Manfred had another reason to keep seaQuest safe.

Unfortunatly, this would not be the case. A rogue special forces group took over the seaQuest, and were going to attempt to bring the UEO to its knees. Unfortuantly for the rogue team, Carla was raped and beaten by their leader, and Manfred snapped, rescuing just enough of the crew after breaking free to retake the ship.

Manfred decided to take a desk assignment, unable to stand the thought of having something happen to Carla or the kids. He took a job in San Diego, working out of the Pacific Fleet office there, in charge of most of the fleet. Before they left, the two found out Carla was pregnant again, which made taking the assigment a little easier.

Neither were happy with being on land, though. And when the opportunity arose, Manfred (after long discussion with Carla) retook the command position of the seaQuest when it became available, and the four returned to living beneath the waves. Shortly after that, their second son, Kenneth, was born.
