Frank Woehrle was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on
January 3, 1934, to the late Louis and Alpha Woehrle.
The first of four Children, Frank inherited the traits of
his hard-working, strong-willed German born Father and
the gentleness of his Southern born Mother.
After graduating from High School, Frank enlisted
in the U.S. Navy Reserves; at the same time, he took
a job with the Northern Freeport Silo Co., helping to
erect concrete stave silos, through out Northern
Wisconsin. With in a month, Frank was promoted to
foreman of a second crew and his leadership began to
show.
On January 30, 1953 Frank met Carol Lingford; a year
later on that same date, they were married. They now
have 6 children, several grandchildren, and several
great-grandchildren.
In 1957 Frank signed on with a Marshfield construction
company. By then end of the month, he was promoted to
foreman. A year later he became co-owner of the
Felhofer-Woehrle Construction Co.
In 1966, while singing at the Central Wisconsin State
Fair, a Nashville agent heard Frank and invited him to
participate in the finals of a seven state country music
talent contest. Grand Ole Opry stars: Jan Howard, the
Glaser Brothers, and David Houston were there as well.
Frank won first place in the male vocalist catagory.
Frank went to Nashville with songs he had written and
after one week he was signed to make a record. After
leading several bands, Frank still loves to perform.
Which is why he has started playing again, with his
new band Legacy.
