Apple is the most common fruit since ancient times. Try asking anyone, chances are, they had tasted apples at least once in their life time.

Almost all of the cultivated apples today are derived from the wild apples, which are still found in their wild forms, in Central Asia. The number of cultivars is simply mind-blogging, as it may run into ten of thousands but it is only several of them dominate the domestic market.
Gala, a Royal Apple
An all time favourite worldwide, it originated from New Zealand in 1960. It is a cross between Golden delicious x (Red delicious x Cox's orange pippin).

Yellow with red blush or stripes, depending on the various 'gala' strains. Crispy, juicy and firm with a very sweet flavour. It is one of the sweetest apple cultivars.

I'm sure you have eaten an apple before but do you like it? Have your say in the interactive poll below. Happy fruiting :)
