Review Questions: Chapter 29

1.      In this chapter there are two scenes which take place within the Mayor's hospital room—one in which Rachel speaks and another in which Father Andrew speaks.  What are the common purposes of these two scenes?  How is Rachel's visit to the hospital chapel related to each of her two visits to her father's room?

2.      How do Rachel's actions in the chapel give further evidence of the change that has come over her?  Why is it significant that she feels better upon leaving the chapel?  What two possible reasons are offered to explain this change in her mood?
