Review Questions: Chapter 20

1.      In this chapter, the Mayor holds a press conference in front of the church which disintegrates into a brief scuffle.  What similarities do you notice between this episode and the earlier episode in which Allison and Rachel's group stage a protest in front of the medical center (Chapter 14)?  What parallels can you draw between the characters involved in each incident? (i.e., Who plans and tries to control each event?  What does each planner hope to achieve by their efforts?  Who is responsible for disrupting those plans?  What is the nature of the damage that the planner suffers as a result?)

2.      At the end of the chapter, as Father Andrew and Eppie sit in the back of the security agents' car, Andrew smiles at Eppie and uses a colloquial expression to show his admiration for her.  What expression does he use?  How is this expression reminiscent of another episode earlier in the book?
