| I met Jerm through J-Thorn. Jeremy lived down the hall from me in West Mignon Hall for about a year, and just like James, he frequented Smokey Valley along with other places in Morehead that I visited as well, yet I had never encountered him. Jeremy is an awesome, very reliable buddy of mine. Though I haven't known him very long, I trust him and enjoy his company. Spend any amount of time with Jeremy and you'll find that he is a great listener and very easy to talk to. People often come to him with their problems (something I can relate to), seeking advice or just someone to talk with. Jeremy filmed the trip to Frozen, and did a great job documenting our little adventure. He is a guy that I can say I'm happy to have had several adventures with, among them Frozen, Wytheville, a roadtrip to Virginia looking for aliens that took us to North Carolina for no reason at all, my best Spring Break trip so far to Daytona Beach, the Mushroom Mines, and even to New Orleans for Mardi Gras! He's a great friend to have -- especially when you need someone you can trust while facing something beyond explanation at Frozen. --Joel |

| Who I am: | |||||||||||||||||
| My name is Jeremy Patrick, a.k.a. "Jerm". I attend Morehead State University where I am a fourth-year Communications major with emphasis in Advertising/Public Relations. I'm also going for an Associate's Degree in Philosophy. I'm J-Thorn's roommate, one of Joel's best friends, and now good friends with the rest who banned together for this project. I was the cameraman for the documentary as well. | |||||||||||||||||
| What I expected: | |||||||||||||||||
| I'd heard stories about this place before, but my interest peaked when I discovered that Joel and James [J-Thorn] had heard about as well. Now I'll be the first to admit, I was never one to be scared of such things, but being a student of Philosophy, I kept an open mind. Besides, paranormal activity and things like ghosts and spirits have always interested me (I loved Ghostbusters as a kid). So basically, I went expecting to see some eerie old buildings, and that's about it. Well, I saw some eerie old buildings, I saw some old furniture inside the eerie old buildings, and that's about it... that is, until we got home... |

| What I experienced: | |||||||||||||||||
| This project was a lot of fun. As I stated before, I love things like this, and another plus was that I made some new friends with the same interests. They all agree. However, as you have seen, or will see, in the testimonials of the others, none of us really felt anything out of the ordinary at that particular time. No evil, no good, no anything. Although the trip was fun and a great experience, I couldn't help but to feel a slight disappointment for the absence of anything unnatural. I was hoping to see, or at least feel something there. |
|||||||||||||||||
| What I thought about it then: | |||||||||||||||||
| Mixed feelings, I suppose. This entire place combined with the whole story generates so many emotions. Be it sorrow for the lost, fear of the unknown, or excitement for the known, you can surely bet at Frozen Creek, they will all hit you at once, regardless if anything happens at the time or not. Personally, I would have to say that excitement was the victor in the battle. | |||||||||||||||||
| What I think about it now: | |||||||||||||||||
| I could give lectures on Moral realitivism, mysticism, or a number of other philoshopical delimmas until I bored you to tears, and I guarantee you that there is NOTHING I could say to explain or justify what we saw in those pictures, or heard on the video tape. I have contemplated every logical premise, evaluated and analyzed every possible conjection, and tried to answer every question I've asked myself. People, nothing is adding up. This has completely thrown my entire belief system for a loop. This is REAL. Our proof is REAL. We have empirical evidence right here before our eyes and nothing can explain it. Was someone smoking a cigarette while taking some of these pictures? No, and you can see this on the video tape. And even if someone was, smoke doesn't generate shapes with such detail. Any schmuck can look at a cloud of smoke and see a face or something in it, but the cloud of smoke itself doesn't form a distinctive shape, it's impossible. Was the thing on James' shoulder a shadow of something? No. It's too solid, too distinctive, it's in both pictures, and if you look closely enough, there's a space between it and James' head. It's not a shadow. Someone even asked me once, "could the foggy stuff be where the film was developed badly?" That would be a possibility, if the film had been developed to begin with. Those are digital camera pictures, the image is caught as it seen and sent straight to a computer memory chip... there's no developing involved. I could go on and on, but other delimmas are questioned in several others' testimonies. The closest thing any of us has come up with for an explanation for any of this is Adam's theory about the golden serpent being a piece of shrapnel falling from the ceiling. This is possible, but still yet unlikely considering the circumstances. |

| What I want you to know about it: | |||||||||||||||||
| This is reality, and there's nothing that can change what is real. I'm not going to sit here and suggest the presence of "spooks" among us, or that some kind of evil goblin is going to interfere with our everyday lives. What I'm saying is that sometimes what we don't see is what we choose not to see. If we look past what we've been "taught" to believe and open our minds, its amazing what we can come across, especially if you have pictures ;-). Anyway, if you ever have the opportunity to go to this place known as Frozen, I suggest you go. If my mind can be changed about such things, anyone's can be. | |||||||||||||||||
