This is the hill leading up to the Kiyomizu Temple. This street has the
"buy crap" store (on the right) as well as the Jrock lady. |
This is me, filming the statues with a camera. |

On the steps under the first arch of the Kiyomizu Temple.
Group Pic! |

Our little group walking the streets
of Kyoto. |

Just climbing it still, I guess. |

Some more walking. =) |

The first level area of the Temple. |

I'm not sure what this is. It seems
to lead up to some holy place. |

And looking backward through the gate! It's us again! |

Another group-like picture. Taken
because those little carriages to the right are the ones where a guy pulls
you around. |

Me with the dragon fountain. Which is 4\/\/3X0/\/\3. |

This is a picture of a mask shop on
the streets of Kyoto. |

A closeup of the dragon statue and its basin. |

On the bullet train, in our
reserved seats. We were heading to Shirahama. |

Another poor temple man, actually getting paid to doodle
in Mr. H's temple book. Hard is the life of these downtrodden men. |

Another picture of me on the train,
looking at who knows what with hardly any room for my feet. So much stuff! |

John leaning against a railing with a wonderful view of
the giant arch. |

This is a stewardess on the bullet
train. She walks by with her cart of soda and beer and snacks. |

This is a picture of me filming the little dwarf man
statue. He's kinda cool. |

This is a picture I took. You can
tell it's mine because I suck. And I couldn't get the date off the
picture. |

Every time I took a picture, someone would walk through
it. I guess this was a sign to STOP TAKING PICTURES IN HOLY TEMPLES!! |

A rice paddy we passed on the train,
and some buildings. |

The temple was undergoing construction when we visited
it, unfortunately. The foundations for that area were getting pretty weak. |

Same as above. |

This is the view of Kyoto from the top of the Temple. |

Kinda overcast day. We passed what I
believe is a school or a gym. Pools aren't very common in Japan. |

This fountain was down near the base of the temple. You
guessed it, this is the temple of knowledge. |

This...is a house. |

People drinking from the three fountains of
"studyness". |

This is at the barbeque after we
arrived at the Seto Research lab. From left, Robin, Sheba, Tomiki, Mr.
Yamamoto...and some guy. |

Heading back towards the arch, we stopped to take this
picture. Behind the picture taker is a graveyard on a hill...but you can't
see that. |

Kay, this is mostly me talking to the
Japanese boys. My group had probably just finished their dinner and sat
down with me. |

This is our group walking down a Kyoto street towards a
shrine (that big brown thing). |

Finishing off the night with a nice
round of Uno. I won. (^-^) |

A group picture taken in front
of...another arch. |

And I believe this is a temple or
shrine...but you can't go into this part (see the wall?). |

This is the comedy show. Those
are bad luck fortunes tied to the netting--people tie them there and
the monks pray for them, wishing them better fortunes. This is
Nishijin temple/shrine. |

This is a porto-shrine found in
Nishijin. There were a total of 3 under this gazebo-like roof. Rows of
lanterns with the names of sponsors on them circle around the edge. |

This is at the Yasaka Shrine, the
place I keep referring to as the Gion shrine. This is on one of the
two pillars. I stopped to take pictures of the gods. This is Genbu and
his messenger. |

Suzaku, the phoenix. |

Byakko, the tiger. Perched on top is
a lion. |

Seiryuu the dragon. |
