| The Frontier Country Historical Society (FCHS) has established a Museum under the same name. It is located in Crescent, Logan County, Oklahoma, the heart of Frontier Country. The Museum has been designed to preserve, house, and exhibit an already- assembled, outstanding collection of pioneer-days artifacts which will recall life in another time, dating from pre-20th century to the present. The Museum exhibits are arranged and displayed as an interactive, living-history exhibit that depict all facets of home and commercial life as it evolved during the development of our region. The Museum and its contents have been attractively displayed so that school children, tourists, and citizens of all ages can enjoy the experience and be informed at the same time. The Museum began its operation with a solid financial and asset base, including the following: = A 2-acre plot of land in the city of Crescent suitable for building and landscaping as a historical center/museum; = Over $200,000 worth of antiques already accumulated and preserved by area families; = $80,000 in cash pledges: 20 hours/week of donated professional time pledged for the first two (2) years of implementation and operation of the Museum; = Hundreds of hours/week of volunteer support already pledged from members of the FCHS Board of Directors and other interested Frontier Country citizens. It was envisioned that after the Museum was built and established, additional exhibits, both outdoor and indoor, would be added, subject to time and space availability, which will expand and enhance the FCHS mission. |
