Looking at the schedule for July, August; That stadium thing again From the Seats, January 19, 2005 MINNEAPOLIS - The Twins should have some potential to take a breath in July, not much of one though. They start out hosting the Devil Rays, who the Twins play better at the Dome than they do in Tampa. Still, not necessarily an easy series. The Twins start off their July road trip by going to Anaheim and than to KC for four games, a great opportunity to take some games before the All Star break, at Comerica Park in Detroit. After the All Star break the Twins come home to host the Angels for four and Baltimore for three. Both series will be testing coming back from the break, the Twins will need to take advantage of these games. They than go off to Detroit for four before ending the month in New York and Boston. Too bad the Tigers wont be as bad as they have been in the past, because it will be the easiest stretch they will have until the end of August. After the East coast swing the Twins will come home to host Oakland for four, than Boston make their appearance. There is a possibility that Oakland wont be as good in the past, they could end up low in the standings in the West, but I wont believe that until I see it. Until than they have to be looked at as a threat. The Twins than go off to a west coast tour visiting the Mariners and A’s. The 9 game road stand will finish up in Chicago, which by that time could mean a lot or very little. The Twins come home to face Seattle and Chicago again. Than go on the road for three with Texas. The month will finish out with an easy three in KC against what should be the lowly Royals. With many games spend on the road, and only two off days the dog days of summer could take their toll on the Twins. Twins Continue Low balling of Santana MINNEAPOLIS - ESPN reported that Johan Santana requested $6.8 million in arbitration. The Twins counter offer was $5 million. What is up with that? I say sign Santana to what he wants, maybe more, like $7 million to 4 years and than run with it. I will look at these more tomorrow: The Stadium debate picks back up - Que the Rocky music. |
