"Twins fans too often out at home this year" - Say What?

MINNEAPOLIS - In Mondays Star Tribune in Patrick Reusse's column he had a response to the "Tip of the Cap" ad placed by the Twins in Sundays Star Tribune.

The full article can be found here: Patrick Reusse: Twins fans too often out at home this year

Although I can agree with Reusse's point of the Twins not getting the attendance numbers or fan support they should have gotten this past season I see no reason for an article like this, blasting all Twins fans.

There are a number of fickle fans that follow the Twins, they go to one, maybe two games a year. They are just as important as the ones who are at each and every one of the 81 home games each season. They do what they can, supporting them with what they have.

When fans get blasted like this, there will be fewer next season. What happens when that casual fan reads this? They might take it personal and say "forget the Twins". Sending the message that there are hidden messages in the Twins add thanking fans is going to drive people away.

Nice job Partick, way to encourage people to come out to a game next season. I have already sent an email!

Championship Series Are Set

ATLANTA - The Astros cruised to a victory Monday night against the Braves, a team that has getting the playoffs down to a well oiled machine, but have yet to figure out the next step and how to get deep into the playoffs.

The Cardinals will host the Astros as the Yankees host the Red Sox in the best of 7 series.

The first thing that Fox showed in their broadcast tonight, in a game 5 of a series for the Braves and Astros is about the Yankee and Red Sox series. Sure, that will be a fun series, cheering on the Red Sox, but I am also interested in the Braves and Astros to see who wins that game. Tomorrow night when the Red Sox and Yankees series starts up is the appropriate time to talk about that series, not tonight.
