Revised Twins fan Christmas list
From the Seats, December 15, 2004
MINNEAPOLIS - Thank you to Terry Ryan for letting us happily cross off one of our items on our 2004 Christmas list. But we still have some key items on the Christmas we need to look at.
Here is the previous Christmas list:
Sign Brad Radke
Sign Corey Koskie (Doesn't have to be a multi year deal)
![]()
Try to make
sure that Joe Mays can pitch effectively as a starter (use some
magic!)
Sign Johan Santana to a multi year deal (Think he would go in for a lifetime deal?)
If Koskie cant be resigned, than how about Joe Randa
Don't trade Rivas, just move him to short so Cuddyer can play second
Use some magic on Lohse, get him out of that funk.
Lets four-peat!
So lets revise this so we have a new updated version:
Sign Johan Santana to a multi year deal
Sign Joe Randa
Make sure Cuddyer is at second, not third
Make sure that Joe Mays is ready to go for the season and can be an effective starter
Get Lohse out of that funk
Lets four-peat
Key items are in bold. I don't think the Twins would have to work to hard to sign Joe Randa and can do it at minimal cost. This way we can make sure that Cuddyer stays at second, where he has done a good job in the past when he has started there.
Signing Johan to a long term deal will be good for them both. Try to get him for a 4 year deal, since I think that is about max. Don't go light on him, sign him for what he is worth. It think the Twins owe it to themselves and the fans to splurge here, use the money from who we have lost in the past year and sign Johan up for a few years!
A four-peat is not out of the question. Even though the Sox and Tribe have improved their teams over the weekend, but the Twins are still the team to beat.
