Out with Expos, in with Nationals

WASHINGTON, D.C. - It is expected that on Monday the new Washington club will announce that the Expos are being renamed the Nationals and will have a US color scheme of red white and blue. Of course that was the same colors of the Canadian team.

Later this week the team is also expected to revile their new logo. The new Washington team is almost set, new name and logo yet the Montreal link still exist on all 30 teams front pages. The only link to the D.C. teams page is from MLB.com.

When will the Expo team be officially done? There have been there large moves by the club so far and yet they are still referred to as last years name and team. I think the sooner that the Washington team and MLB can get ride of the Expo image and name the better it will be for both. The last think that MLB wants to happen is for fans to continue to think about what happened in Montreal.

The whole situation in the French speaking Canadian city doesn't draw people in and give them that real nice comfy feeling. If anything it turns people off and away from the game, keeping the thoughts how it can happen again.

This week will be a big step for Washington's new team. I am looking forward to seeing the new uniforms and logo.
