Are the Twins frozen?
From the Seats, November 16, 2004
MINNEAPOLIS - Mild November weather has many Minnesotan's doing things they typically cant do in November. People continue to ride bikes, take walks and run as if it were early October, not trying to warm up from temperatures that seem to be freezing at this time of year. No one has had to break out the shovels or start up the snow blower yet.
Maybe Terry Ryan and the Twins have gotten caught up in this warm weather and have spend time out in it. Maybe the other teams have joined in with the Twins and have enjoyed the sun of November.
Whatever they might be doing things have moved very slow this offseaosn so far. We are in the middle of November and we have only had one free agent signing? No trades of any kind have taken place yet.
By this time last year teams had signed notable names, or made trades. The Pierzynski to San Francisco trade took place a year ago Sunday, and the Twins had already made decisions on a number of other players.
Yet this year we have a number of players the Twins would like to resign and have only made an offer on one of them, which nothing has happened with.
Bonds wins 4 strait MVP
SAN FRANCISCO - Barry Bonds has won 4 MVP's in a row, and why not with what he brings to the Giants. When you think of the Giants Bonds comes to mind, when you look at their line up, Bonds is about it at times.
I am sure this is very unpopular with many other fans of the game. As many people don't appreciate what Barry Bonds has done recently. The excuse of how he is juiced and takes steroids. Well I don't care who you are, you can take all the steroids in the world and not be able to do what Bonds is doing if you don't have talent, I think the only difference will be how far it goes.
Throughout time fans have not liked the best of the best of the game. We all love home runs, but seem to not like the home run champion, the guy who can always hit them out. From watching the movie 61 Roger Maris was not liked when he hit 61 home runs in 1961.
In my opinion Bonds is one of the best we will see the game and we should take an advantage of being able to see him play, not despite him and not want to watch him or continue to do what he is doing. He deserves the MVP awards he has gotten the past 4 years.
