Vizquel joins Giants

MINNEAPOLIS - Omar Vizquel was rumored to be a possibility to take over for Christian Guzman at short, that is no longer an option as the first free agent signing of the off season took place Sunday when Vizquel signed with the Giants for a three year deal worth $12.5 million.

With the option of Vizquel no longer available Guzman is the Twins best chances for a shortstop. If Guzman is not re-signed than someone in the Twins system would have to take over short.

With shortstop being a big question mark still for the Twins it is not the first priority. The Twins have yet to make any moves this season with signing or trading players.

Right now we have a lot of puzzle pieces on the table and they all look like they could connect in some way, its just a matter of getting the first two pieces to fit into place and going from there.

As a fan, the sooner they start to fit together, the easier the off season will be.
