Pioneer Press on top of Radke

From the Seats, November 9, 2004

ST. PAUL - It seems that just about every day lately the Pioneer Press has had a report about who else is interested in Brad Radke. I believe the count includes  the Indians, White Sox, Red Sox, Yankees and Dodgers, and I am sure more, any playoff team would be foolish to not want to look at Radke and want him.

But why does the Pioneer Press want to keep telling us about the possibility of Radke departing? The Star Tribune has said that there has been interest in other teams, but since the Twins have offered Radke the $14-$19 million 2 year deal we have not heard much for the Star Tribune.

It is nice to be kept up on the skinny, but a daily report about how the Indians are really excited to be able to offer him something, but fear they wont be able to get him are a little much.

We have not had as much info about other free agents and who might be interested. Koskie has been mentioned by teams in articles, but not as heavily and as direct as Radke has been.

Perhaps it is best, to keep fans on the edge of their seat, not let them get comfy for the off season, not let them forget about what is on the table and exactly how big of an offseaosn this is.

After all, one of my biggest complains for a very long time was how the Vikings are the number one priority of the media no matter what time of year it is. Now the Twins are getting talked about in both Twin City papers, why should I complain! We just need to get Radke, and a few others taken care of I guess.
