Downtime before the action
From the Seats, November 2, 2004
MINNEAPOLIS - There is no movement with free agents yet. No signings by teams of players. No trades. A whole lot of nothing going on.
The only thing the fan can do is anticipate the moves that will be made by the team. Will Radke be signed or have to find another team? Will the Twins have enough to sign Santana to a multi-year contract? Will Mays come back to like he was before elbow injuries? Who will play short?
So many questions and we are getting nothing for answers right now. There is only so much "this could happen" and "this is a possibility" type talk that can go on.
What makes it worse, fans know that time is limited with these free agents. The sooner they are signed the better. The more time that passes, it is less likely they will be a Twin, or that the deal will be as good as what it could be.
Finally - Election day is here!
MINNEAPOLIS - It is November 2, 2004 at last! The election ads we have seen for the past year are now over, the campaigns that have flooded through the swing state of Minnesota are done. It is all finally over, for 3 years.
No matter who you vote for, get out there and vote!
