Red Sox win World Series in 4

From the Seats, October 28, 2004

ST. LOUIS - RED SOX WIN! Wednesday night the Red Sox ended a 86 year drought and won the World Series by beating the Cardinals 3-0 in Game 4 to sweep the Cardinals.

There have been generations that have watched and cheered for the Red Sox and hoped they would win the World Series, many never saw it. Now they have.

Since that game 4 win for the Red Sox in the ALCS they seemed to be on a mission and it wouldn't matter who was in the way, they were going to do it. It is unfortunate the Cardinals couldn't have won some games at home and won some games for their fans.

Three former Twins now have their rings, one of them, Doug Mientkiewicz made the last out on a scoring play of 1-3 on the come backer to the mound. These former Twins are a big reason many Twins fans cheered for the Red Sox this post season. Congrats to them!

Now for the rest of us, thank goodness, now we dont have to hear about "the curse" and how the Red Sox cant win the World Series. Unfortunately now we will have to hear about the Cubs and their own little curse.

The Boston Red Sox are the World Series Champions, wow! Congrats to them!
