Things coming together From the Seats, March 21, 2005 FORT MYERS - First I apologize for neglecting this site like I have, life has gotten in the way. But I will do my best to update at least the main page daily again, and to tell you what I think whenever I can. We are over the halfway mark in spring training, and even though the Twins have a losing record and are not hitting a lot there is a lot of good to take out of what we have seen so far. Pitching has been good. Starters are solid, maybe the most pleasant surprise is Joe Mays, who has appeared to be in his 2001 form. Johan Santana and Brad Radke also look very good. The questionable and maybe not so good we can take to this point is shortstop. Nick Punto has not been able to play much, in fact this weekend was his first time in the field. Juan Castro has been pretty error happy, but Jason Bartlett has had a good spring and could be in the front running for the spot. Joe Mauer has had some soreness to his knee, the good is that it seems to be getting better. All in all, things are coming together and we are getting closer, two weeks to opening day. |
