Clemens Shines in NLCS

HOUSTON - Finally, now that Roger Clemens is in the National League I can enjoy watching him pitch. That does not mean I couldn't enjoy his 20 years he played in the American League, especially his 15 with the Red Sox and Blue Jays.

It is that last 5 years with the New York Yankees that made it so painful to watch Roger Clemens pitch. Why? Mainly because he dominated the Twins and helped lead the Yankees to a win. For a guy who needs 2 runs to win a ball game most days, it is hard to watch a game that he gets 11 runs for support and is pitching a shut out to your team. It is hard to appreciate and enjoy what you are watching from the opposing pitcher.

Even though I would like to see the Cardinals win the NLCS series, I have nothing against the Astros and found it enjoyable to watch Clemens pitch 7 innings allowing 2 runs on 4 hits. In the last 3 innings he pitched he didnt allow a hit. Roger Clemens was who he has been for the past 20 years, that hall of fame pitcher. He is one of the greats and it was fun to watch him not hopping that the opposing team can "get lucky" and get a few runs off him.

This game could possibly be the last we see Roger Clemens pitch. Will he choose to retire yet again? Maybe longer than a month? If so, I have to say it was pretty cool to see Roger Clemens pitch, both in person and on TV.
