Confidence is high

MINNEAPOLIS - If you have managed to catch a short interview of a Twin player, mainly Torii Hunter or if you have read some articles in the Star Tribune lately you might have gotten the feeling the players are ready and the confidence is high.

 

It appears that the entire team feels they were cheated when the ghosts of Yankee Stadium managed to help the Evil Empire win Game 2 of the ALDS last fall. It is enough to put a charge into the team, a charge that I have noticed.

 

After the Twins won the division and went to the ALCS in 2002 they came back and said they could repeat, even though everyone else said they couldn't. After messing around some they did just that, the Twins repeated. But lost to the Yankees. So again, they said they would get back to the playoffs.

 

Now it seems that getting to the playoffs, winning the Central Division is expected and the Twins have their sights on something beyond that.
