Hi! I thought it would be fun to start a sight of my own.
To share my experiences with others and maybe to encourage you too!:)
Learning From King Hezekiah. How can we learn to praise to God?
He was the King of 'Judah', when translated from Hebrew Judah means 'Praise'.
So we will say Hezekiah is the King of Praise. 2 Chronicles 29 lays out the steps Hezekiah took to restore praise and worship of God.
STEP 1 in verse 3; He opened the doors of the temple. We can open our hearts up to God and invite Him into our lives.
Romans 10:9-10
STEP 2 He repaired the doors. When God comes into our lives he heals our broken lives. He wants to make us whole.
Romans 10:11-13
STEP 3 in verse 4; He assembled the priests. The Bible says that all who believe in Him are His royal priesthood. We should gather together to encourage eachother.Ephesians 5:19-20
STEP 4 He told them to consecrate themselves. We must fully give ourselves and our lives to Him. We cannot effectively serve Him if we are not wholly His.
Result of not listening to the call of God~ Psalm 98:6-7
~The priests turned their faces away...defiance to God
~They shut the door and turned out the lamps...They closed their hearts to God and darkness took over, God's Spirit departed from them.Ephesians 4:18-19
Result of disobedience~Psalm 98:8-9
~They incurred the anger of the Lord. Deuteronomy 11:26-28
Chosen by God~Psalm 98:11
The Lord chose us! He desires our love and adoration...worship. Psalm 100
Getting In Right Relation With God
2 Chronicles 29:16b; Step 1 ~Clean our homes of things that are offensive to God (movies, habits etc..)
Step 2 ~2 Chron.29:16c; Consecrate the temple (ourselves) for 8 days. We do this through fasting and prayer. Then offer repentance and dedication to the Lord on last day of fasting. Sincerely worship Him in Spirit and truth.
Step 3 ~2 Chron. 29:31; Then Hezekiah said "You have now dedicated yourselves to the Lord." Offer praise and thanksgiving to the Lord.
~~This establishes the temple of the Lord, we are fit for His use. He will beable to work through us touching others everywhere we go!
May God richly bless and guide you on your journey to truth :)
