| MEXICAN HOT CHOCOLATE | ||||||||||||
| 3 cups of milk 1/4 cup of sugar 1 and 1/2 squares of unsweetened chocolate 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon spice 1/8 teaspoon of salt 1 egg, beaten Add the milk, sugar, chocolate, ground cinnamon and salt to a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir constantly until the chocolate melts and then turn the heat to low. Beat the egg in a bowl and then gradually add approximately 1 cup of the hot chocolate mixture into the egg, stirring briskly as you pour. Quickly return the egg mixture back to the saucepan with the remaining hot chocolate and heat for 2 more minutes and then remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the vanilla flavoring and carefully whisk the ingredients together until foamy and fluffy. Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and serve. |
