Well, I've been busy, that's my only excuse. We've had alot going on..between Evan's 7th birthday and our family reunion and the nieces staying with us for a day or so, too, we've been preoccupied. Speaking of Evan's birthday, I wanted to share this little slideshow. We didn't really have a party for him this year. We had cake and ice cream with the family and all, but other than that we didn't do anything. My hubby came up with a little surprise for him on his birthday though...that's what the photos are.:)

He was so cute! I can't believe my baby is already 7! Seems like just yesterday I was able to cradle him in my arms and now when I do, his feet touch the floor!lol

Speaking of surprises, I had a doozie yesterday. My old friend Amanda called out the nowhere. We did the math and it's been nearly 18 years since we've spoken. We were best friends in 7th and 8th grade and after that we went to different schools and just lost touch. I was shocked to hear from her but so glad to be able to reconnect with her. It will be fun to get to know one another all over again!

It looks like we will all be going home for Christmas this year. My cousin Tommy was so generous to use his miles to get a ticket for my husband...he just asked us to pay the taxes on it which came to $10. I couldn't believe it! My husband will be taking a redeye flight out on Christmas Eve and will arrive that day around noon. He'll be coming back on that Sunday so he won't get to stay as long, but we'll all be together for the holidays. It will be nice cause we haven't all been out there in some years now. Thank you Tommy if you're reading this! I owe ya!

I have some more very exciting news! About two weeks ago I found out my little sister Mandy is pregnant with her first baby! She's happy but the doctor has already had to put her on bedrest for a bit to keep her blood pressure in check. She's had some significant female issues so we're hoping this all works out for her. Say a prayer for her and baby if you think to! Well, that ain't all folks! Yesterday I also found out my OLDER sister Melody is pregnant too! Can you believe that! This will be her second child, her son being almost 15! This was a surprise for her and hubby no doubt! We called my little sister on threeway and Mel told her that she jinxed her!lol It tickled me when I called my mom cause the first thing out of her mouth was "Don't tell me you're pregnant, too!". Only thing I can suggest is don't drink the water in Alabama!lol I'll be having a joint baby shower for them when I go out in December and am soooo looking forward to it! Congratulations to you both! I love you guys!

Well, I've gotta get outta here. Laundry is calling...ain't it always!lol Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Listening to:Making Love Out of Nothing at All by Air Supply

It's friggin' hot here. I hate this weather I swear. The past week has just been absolutely miserable. I'm talking well into the triple digits...so far as hot as 115 I think. I don't care if there's humidity or not, when it gets that hot, it's unbearable.

On a much happier note...we are doing very well. The mess at Shaun's work has been taken care of finally. The Union had been unable to settle a contract with the company that he works for. June made two years that it had gone unsettled. The workers had finally had enough and decided to decertify from the Union altogether. Their boss really came through for them. They got nearly a $12 raise plus got the retro pay for the past two years. On June 1st Shaun got his check for nearly $10000. That retro really added up! On top of that, two days later he got his vacation check for almost $5000! Needless to say we have been able to get completely caught up with all of our bills and then some. It's been a blessing I tell ya. My friend Victoria, the angel that I am now calling my financial advisor, has changed our lives. I will never be able to fully express my appreciation to her for all that she has given us.

Anyway...I gotta get for now! I'll be back though! I've got more to tell!

Listening to:Friends by Michael W. Smith

Ok...so I'm not good at blogging anymore. I just never seem to make enough time. I know I should, but geez...it's hard enough to squeeze the little bit of me time out of my 24 hours that I do get!

I am feeling particularly positive this morning. I'm looking forward to what the week will bring. We've had some recent financial advice that I'm hoping really works out in our favor. Thank you Victoria for all you've done, you've no idea how valuable your help is!

Evan is still sleeping. He usually isn't up til after 7 for school. He's really ready to be out of school this year. Every night he ask if he has school the next day and I've tried telling him he needs to get used to it cause he's got a long way to go! He's recently lost his 4 bottom teeth...if you can say 'lost'. We actually had to have them pulled by the dentist because his baby teeth weren't willing to let go when the big boy teeth were already coming out behind the baby ones. He did good considering his teeth were being yanked out. We didn't do them all at one time which is really what hurt us cause the second time we went to see her, he KNEW what was going on. I know he's glad though cause he was so proud of those teeth when he was done!

I've got to get some breakfast but I will chat later, promise! Have a great day!

I cannot believe that it has been over a year since I last posted here. I knew it had been awhile since we had access, but goodness! We recently got a new computer from my Shaun's Aunt Lonna and we are now up and online. It's a great computer, far better than the one we had a while ago! It's nice being online again. You never know what you're missing, ya know!? The only thing is for right now, we are using dialup...does anyone use that anymore?! We are looking for a reliable and inexpensive internet provider so if anyone has any suggestions, please by all means let me know!

I have to get for now. Gotta get my day off to a good start so need to get the coffee on. I will post again later! Have a great day!!

Happy New Year all around!! We are here at my hubby's sisters' house celebrating the new year and I thought I'd pop in and give a quick hello to all my online buddies!! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. It was a great one for us, though as always, I'm kinda glad to see it over finally. For one, Evan will be going back to school soon!!heehee! He's been driving me up the wall at home for goodness sakes. Love the kid, but good heavens!! Nobody ever warned me about this kind of stuff when I was pregnant!

My mother and father in laws blessed us with yet another wonderful Christmas this year. They sent us all on a trip to Disneyland for three days. Well, it wasn't ALL of us, but the most of us! It was a blast and I have a ton of photos to upload when I can, but all in good time. They also got us a new washer and dryer, too. I would've been fine with a used one, but my father in law called us the day after Christmas and said that we'd be getting a call to set up the delivery time. I was bowled over and rather happy about it!! We've been having to use the laundry facilities at our apartments and that stinks. Anywho....

Gotta get, my niece says I talk too much...lol. Happy New Year!!!

Tuesday, November 14th, 2006

Well let me see if I can even remember how to post here or not...heehee. It's been awhile!

I'm here at Kinko's on one of their handy pc's cause we don't have one still. I just wanted to take a moment and update everyone on what's been going on in the Huckaby household.

Shaun and I are doing great. He and I started Weight Watchers again about 11 weeks ago. He's lost 29 pounds so far and I've lost 23. I feel great and I didn't think I could do it! I'll post some photos when I get a chance.

Evan is doing good as well. He's loving school, especially riding the bus. I enjoy that freedom, too..lol.

I'll be back again soon within the next few days, they are getting ready to close! I hope to talk with you soon Cheri and Tammy!((HUGS!))

I thought I would share some photos with you from our trip to Alabama...it's not over yet, but these are ones I have so far. Thanks to Cheri for placing the slideshow on her site, it's a wonderful tool and I really enjoyed creating mine!

I hope this finds everyone doing well and having a great summer. It's been soooo freakin' hot around here. I'm currently vacationing in Alabama with my son, Evan. He and I flew out here to visit my parents and family for a few weeks. We got in on Tuesday...late Tuesday might I add. We'll be here til the 21. I'm enjoying my visit so far. Mom has taken some time off work to spend with us and I'm really enjoying that. She has to go back to work on Monday though. I have some friends and family that I really would like to visit while I'm here so it will probably be better that way anyway. The weather here is unreal. It's been a couple of years since I've been back here during the summer and I really forgot how humid it is! I mean, I live in California where it hits triple digits all the time this time of year and we don't blink an eye at that. Here it gets to about 99 or 100 but feels even hotter because of the humidity. When we left the airport on Tuesday, near midnight mind you, it was still a whoppin' 85 outside and felt about 95. It's icky too and forget doing anything with your hair!lol

Evan's 5th birthday was yesterday. We're having a party for him this afternoon and have invited alot of friends and family. We thought it would be easier to have them all come see us this time instead of the other way around and thought Evan's birthday was the perfect occassion for that. He's excited..can't wait all that jazz..lol.

I'll be off for now but will post more later. Have a great day!!

10:35am

It's been a month since I last posted. I didn't realize it had been that long. I've been hecka busy around here and things on the homefront have been keeping me on my toes.

Evan is officially a 'graduate' of Head Start. I was sad to see it end. I have made some wonderful friends while he was there and I will miss them as much as he will miss his own friends. I hate it, cause no matter how many 'Keep in touch' promises you make, it still seems to never happen that way. I know of at least two ladies that I know I'll remain close to though, and they were moms in the class, so it's good that Evan will see his old classmates, too. Maria and her hubby actually came over yesterday with the kids, who were Evan's classmates. We all went swimming and had a great time. Evan still doesn't know how to swim well, I thought he was going to strangle me he was holding on to me so tight while we were in the water!lol But...the yearbook dvd we did turned out amazing and the end of the year bbq we put together was even better. We had a terrific turnout and what was supposed to be just a 2 and a half hour event ended up being a 7 hour event for most of us as we just kept talking and talking after the party ended. It was a great time. Anyway...

Our twin nieces are graduating 8th grade tonight. I can't believe how far they take it now. When I moved on to 9th grade, we did have a little ceremony and all, it was fun. But they are getting caps and gowns and all now! I am thinking..by the time they graduate 12th grade, what's the big deal!? It seems like they make such a big deal of 8th now cause there are so few who actually make it to 12th! They are excited though..they had their dance on Friday...it was formal...sounds like a prom right?!lol I've got lots of photos if I can ever get them on my pc.

We still don't know anything about the strike. They are still working, which is good news. Only we don't know one day to the next if they will be on strike or not. I hope they come to an agreement soon. As it is, Shaun isn't going to be able to go back to Alabama with us. We are looking at going back at the end of July. We'll be there for Evan's 5th birthday and I know my mom is happy about that. They've not been here for any of the other ones. It'll be nice to see folks back home again, it's been awhile.

I need to get out of here, I've got some things to do before we leave this evening. I'll post more later! Cheri, I'll give you a call tomorrow hon! Be waiting by the phone ok?!lol Tina, I've not forgotten about your little game either, I'll do it the next time I post hon. Tonya, I'll let you know as soon as we know when we'll be back that way ok? Can't wait to see you hopefully!! Tammy, I'm always thinking of you hon!! All of my g'friends in FCN, I thank you for your patience with my pc issues...that I'm STILL having! I hope to be back in the swing of things soon. Hope you all have a wonderful afternoon!! Hugs all around!

Ok, I typically wouldn't do this, but it's been brought to my attention that my site has not been accessable over the past few days. I knew about the server going down a time or three, off and on, but this just stinks. Seeing as I'm having a BOGOF sale right now, I thought I would at least place my newest siggies here for you. Please if you are at all interested, email me and let me know. Until the problem is resolved with my site, I will place new things here. Hopefully it won't be long! Thank you so much and I am terribly sorry for the inconvenience!

Well, it's official. Evan will not be advancing to kindergarten in the fall. We had been preparing ourselves for it, and kinda knew but we have confirmed it as of today. After several months of testing, we have just come to the conclusion that he's not ready. Academically he's there. But he's lacking in the language and speech department. Instead of kindergarten, he will be attending a preschool class at a local school. The class is language driven and very aggressive in that area, which is right up his alley. I've met with the teacher and she is just wonderful. He and I went this morning to check out the class and he didn't want to leave! The class is small compared to what he's used to and the teacher/student ratio is great as there are 3 teachers and only about 15 students. That doesn't include aids for the teachers. Plus, he will continue recieving speech from Miss Michele, the same therapist he's been working with at Head Start. In addition, they have another speech therapist intern that comes in two times a week...so he'll be getting 4 days of speech each week in addition to his regular classwork. He will attend as a regular class would and it's a regular school campus. He goes to lunch like the other kids and so on, can even ride the bus if I want him to. It sounded just like the best thing we could do for him. He isn't at a mature enough level to know that his friends are going on to kindergarten and he isn't, so that isn't an issue for us. He will be 5 in August, and with God's good grace will be able to attend kindergarten next fall. I know it's not uncommon for a child to be 6 in kindergarten, so we aren't worried. Anywho....let me catch my breath here!lol

Shaun and I are having our birthdays this weekend. He's going to be 34 on Saturday and I'll be 30 on Sunday. Not alot going on, can't afford much! We're having his sister and her hubby over on Saturday evening for Monopoly and pizza...my two favorite past times!lol They're bringing Josh over for Evan to play with so they'll be good for the night!lol They enjoy each other's company so much. We have fun when we all get together. It's nice to be among adults from time to time! Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll let me win since it's my birthday!lol

I need to get for now but I will try to post soon! Mel if you're reading this, I miss ya'll! Email me girl! Bye ya'll!!!

1:17am

Well, it was a wonderful anniversary. We are flat on our butts broke right now, but I don't think I've enjoyed an anniversary as much as I did this one. I had taken Evan to his teacher's church for the Kid's Night Out at 6:30 on Friday night. I was on my way back home to meet Shaun...I was pretty sure that he would've been home by then and may want to shower before we went to get a bite to eat. Well, we couldn't afford gifts for one another this year, as most of you know. I thought that I would stop by Hallmark and at least pick out a card for him. So I parked the car in the lot and was about to get out when I noticed a blue Cavalier approaching...we have one in case you need to know..lol. I thought..no way...what were the odds that Shaun and I both, at the same time, decided to go to the same Hallmark? Sure enough it was him and he parked and we just laughed it off. It was quite the coincidence. Well...a new tradition was born actually. We decided to go in and pick out a card for each other, but since we were both there, we didn't have to pay for it. We stood there in the anniversary section for the better part of an hour, picking out cards for each other and letting each other read them..then putting them back..lol. Saved us a fortune but we were still able to get the sentiment. We decided to do it for every occasion now. Think of the money we'll save?!lol It was fun, too, but I know the saleslady was pe'od when we left emptyhanded. So anyway...we left, went a got a burger and came home around 9:30 when Evan's teacher called and I had to go get him early because the plumbing was messed up at the church. He's at my in-laws now though so we had Saturday to ourselves, too..but again, too broke to do anything. We just relaxed and enjoyed the peace and quiet. I'm a happy wife of 5 years and getting happier with every day. I am a bit hurt by my mom though. I usually don't like to do things for people and 'expect' things in return, but in a way, I guess you kinda can't help yourself, especially when it's your own parents. They celebrated 25 years on the 11th of this month and as po' as we are right now, I still sent them flowers so they would know they were in our thoughts. I spoke to her a few times last week, too and she was perfectly aware that our anniversary was on Friday. Well, we didn't get so much as a phone call from them, a card or anything. Am I wrong to feel that way? To me, 5 years is a landmark anniversary...nothing compared to 25 granted, but still...something to be acknowledged by your family with at least a simple phone call. Sorry bout that...can't help it...

It's getting late so I need to get to bed but I will post later this week. Thank you all again for all of your wonderful gifts and messages for our anniversary! All of my FCN friends were great and so sweet to think of us so. Tonya, Cheri, Helen and Tammy...I love you guys and miss you all! Seems like we don't get to talk nearly often enough, but you are always in my thoughts! Have a wonderful week guys! Big hugs all around!

12:04am

It's late and I've been busy trying to update some things on my sites. I thought I'd come by and make an entry as it's been a few weeks. We've been a bit busy with Evan being out for Spring Break. He finally goes back tomorrow thank the heavens above! It was actually an enjoyable break for us I guess...for the most part he was on his best behavior. He seems to be coming out of his shell alot lately. We also had a nice Easter. We went to Shaun's parents house and of course we had our egg hunt for the kids. My nieces are all three at the ages of 13 and 14 and still they wanted to hunt because my mother-in-law puts money in some of the plastic ones. This year though, we limited their hunting space so that the two younger kids, Evan and our nephew Josh, would have a fair advantage. Evan did really good, too and he loved it. Used to I could always say..."Well, Evan is too little and he needs my help" but now he knows how to do it so I got jipped..lol...I like to hunt too ya know! Anyway, it was a great day. Shaun and I are celebrating our 5 year anniversary on Friday. I can hardly believe it. It doesn't seem like it's been that long to me. That's good though, I think...I've enjoyed every minute of our marriage and am looking forward to the next 5 years and beyond. I think we're going to go to dinner and my in-laws are taking Evan on Saturday night for us so we'll actually have a nice weekend. Evan will be going to his teacher Christina's church on Friday night, too. The third Friday of each month the church has a Kid's Night Out where you can take your kids and drop them off from 6:30-10:30. They do all kinds of activities and crafts, play games and watch movies, even have dinner and snacks. He's been going now since December I think and he really enjoys it. There are a few of his classmates who go, too, so he likes that. Anyway...I guess I need to get off this thing. I will try to post later this week. I want to say hello to my sissys..I haven't talked to you guys in some time. Tammy, I'm here sometimes hon, but can never seem to be here when you are! I'm thinking about you and miss chatting with you, too. Maybe I'll try to call you soon. Cheri, I hope that you and Logan are doing better hon. Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you, but know that I am already praying for him to get well. Helen, I have no idea where you are girlie, but I sure do miss you. I hope things are going well for you and that your getting rich to buy me that computer you promised! Tonya, only a few more weeks til our birthday girl! I can't believe I'm gonna be 30!! Ugh! I hope to chat with you sometime before then. I think of you often! Anyways...hello and hugs go out to all of my girlfriends at FCN, too...you guys make those nasty days so much better and I can't tell you how much I appreciate your wonderful friendships. Hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday!! Nikki-out!

11:38pm

Good late evening ya'll. I hope this finds everyone having a great week so far. I know mine has been rather eventful. Evan is sick yet again. He has an infection in both of his ears bless his heart. This is twice now within a 2 month period. His pediatrician finally referred him to an ENT specialist so we can hopefully determine what's causing him to stay sick the way he is. We've nicknamed him Darth because he breathes so heavy through his mouth all of time. He's always congested. We're hoping it's nothing serious but glad to get somewhere. My nephew has been officially diagnosed with ADHD. He's going to be 6 in May. We've kinda known I guess for some time, just never wanted to admit it. I feel for his mom though, she seems pretty upset. Anyway...I need to get to bed. Gotta get up early...ya'll have a great weekend if I don't meet ya here before then!

3:02pm

Well here I am. It's only been since last June or July I think, but dang if I didn't get this stinkin' pc back up and runnin. We are officially back online, but there is so much to do. I don't even know where to start. I have no clue how to get to my website stuff. My hosting was cancelled back in December due to my credit card information needing to be changed through PayPal and I didn't get to it in time. So now, I'm stuck with a website and no way to change it!:( If anyone has any ideas, please do let me know! I was using Jenn(Lynch) as my host before and I really liked her, but I can't reach her.:( Not sure if she's still here so again, if anyone has any ideas, PLEASE let me know! I'm kind of a ding dong when it comes to the hosting thing, not sure about any of it. All I know is I'd like to keep my site, but I guess I have to have someone to host it?! Anyway...

All is well here I guess. Shaun's been working ok. He was off today due to weather and it's looking like rain the rest of the week, too but hopefully not. My parents just left last Thursday. They were here for a week. It was nice to visit with them, especially my mom. I miss her. For those of you who may NOT know, I live in California, my family is all in Alabama. I guess we'll be going back to Alabama for Christmas...big heads up to Tonya and Cheri who are out that ways!! Evan is still in his 2nd year at Head Start. I have a meeting with his speech therapist sometime this week because she called on Friday and in fact did confirm what I had most feared. He's not going to be ready for kindergarten. I am hoping that they will go ahead and move him on and let him take some supplementary programing for his speech. He was 10 weeks premature, so we knew to expect some delays, but he has come so far. I had sort of expected it all along, but when a professional confirmed it, that just broke my heart. She just pointed out that kindergarten is rather fast paced and alot of the instruction is auditory, which sometimes he seems to have trouble processing. I told his teacher that I think alot of that is just hard of hearing or being really really stubborn!!lol! I haven't a CLUE where he could THAT from!! Anyway, I'm not giving up on him, I know he can do it and I'll do whatever it takes to get him where he needs to be. I don't want to keep him out of kindergarten this year, but if I have to, then I have to. We'll see. Anyways...I guess I should be going. I have some things to do but I'll be posting more often...at least til I can get to my other site!lol Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!

2:45pm

Well my goodness, would you look at the time! I never thought I'd be able to get back in here to post, but here I am! Still no computer at home, but I'm at my in-laws right now. Super Bowl Sunday...woopee. I don't have a lot of time, but I'll try to update you on the going ons!

We had a great holiday, glad it's over though. Evan's doing great. Still in preschool. He's going to be in Kindergarten this time next year.:( I'm glad to see him growing so big, but it does break my heart a bit, I have to admit! I'll try to post some new pics soon. My parents are coming out to visit at the end of the month. This will be the first time I've seen my dad in over a year but my mother was here in August for Evan's 4th birthday. I can't wait to see them, and I know they're always excited about seeing Evan. We're still not pregnant though we have been trying! I've gone back to Weight Watchers recently...I just decided that I really do need the support of others. So far so good. I got off track for a little while, but I'm pleased with my success since starting back to WW and going to Curves as well. I especially like seeing the loss of INCHES!:) I've recently found a new passion...scrapbooking! Heaven help me cause it's addictive just like drawing graphics and web design! I have no idea when/if I'll be back online. I really had no idea how much time I was spending online until I was spending that time doing other, more productive things and I'm enjoying my new found freedom. I've gotten really involved in the Parent Club at Evan's preschool and have made lots of new friends there. We'll see in time if we can get the computer up and running again, but right now, it's still not really a concern of mine. Anyway...!

I hope that you are all doing well and I really do miss some of you. You know who you are!! I will try to be in touch soon but until then, have a Happy Valentine's Day and know that you are thought of often!

Listening to: Jimmy Cliff(Ultimate Collection)

Well hey ya'll. Tammy got on to me for not posting, so thought I should do so...lol.

I hope you are all doing well, had a great week and all that jazz. We're doing about as good as can be expected. Evan's passed out on the couch, don't think Shaun is far behind him. I'm just enjoying the peace and quiet for a change! I've had a long week, and it's ONLY the first week since school let out!UGH! It's gonna be a long summer, I've no doubt about that! He's an over all good kid I guess, but MY GOSH the WHINING!!! WILL IT NEVER STOP!!!! Everything he says sounds EXACTLY like everything else cause he whines everything! It drives me freakin' batty!(Insert 45 min break here..lol)K, had to put the kiddo to bed and get hubby ready for bed, too..lol. Where was I? Oh, yeah, onto a different subject!

We found out that my mom will be coming to visit in August. This will be her first visit back to California since they were here for our wedding over 4 years ago. She's not usually one for flying, but I think she's making some long awaited changes in her life, and this is just one of many! I can't wait to have her here, it's gonna be loads of fun. We're taking her to San Francisco cause she wants to see the Golden Gate Bridge. I've been here almost 6 years and I STILL haven't seen it!lol I'm just thrilled though to have her come and see where we live and I'm hoping she may just understand that I'm happy here and stop putting pressure on us to move back to Alabama. Not that I don't want to eventually, but my life is here for now and she's not really seeming to get that!lol Granted, HIS mom doesn't seem to get that we're eventually moving back to the south either. Guess it's just a thing with momma's!

Not too much else is going on. We're just here. I'm still moving things to my new domain. Slow process but I know I need to get it done. I am enjoying it though. I've been a little slow with motivation lately. Just not feelin it much! I'm open to suggestions! Anyway, I'm off for now. I should be back with more sometime next week. You all have a great weekend. I'm thinking about you, Tammy and Tonya...I know you both are in a significant amount of pain right now, both for different reasons. I love you guys so much and can't imagine bein' without yas! Cheri, I'm so glad we have had the chance to reconnect...or better, get off our periods!lol It's been nice being able to put things behind us and let our friendship grow from it. Nice to have you back sissy! Oh, and I hope Logan is recovering well too! Give him my best!! Helen and Melissa, I don't know if you guys read this or not, but I just want you to know that even though we don't always talk for whatever reasons there may be, I love you guys both and wish the very best for you. I'm hoping things are going well for you Helen and that the job is working out. I miss talking to you very much so! Melissa, the same goes for you hon. I know you are dealing with issues all on your own, but I'm still here if you need me sweetie. You always know where to find me! Heck, for that matter, Angie, not sure if you read this either..lol. It's been waaaay too long hon. I hope you and your family are enjoying each other and living every day to it's fullest. I strive for that too! I miss you hon!! Know that I think of you often! Think that covers my shout outs..lol. If I've forgotten anyone, please do forgive me! These are just my sissies! Nothing personal against anyone, whatsoever! Big hugs alllll around!

Hey, hey ya'll. So it's been a few weeks since my last post. I've got good reason, though. I've been sick again with allergies about the past two weeks and that's been keeping me down big time. I tried and tried to get past it, but geez, I can only handle so many different drugs! I couldn't understand why my doctor was only treating the symptoms instead of just giving me something for the allergies. Finally, he sent through a prescription for Zyrtec and I was soooo glad to get it. Now, we have 100% coverage with Shaun's work via the Teamsters and all but we still know how much stuff costs. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that the pills I got would've cost $239 for 100 of them. When you look at it in terms of per pill, it's not that bad, but really, who has that kind of money to shell out when they get sick!? We don't have to pay anything thank goodness. Evan has been sick again, too. I am getting sick of being SICK..lol. Anyway...

I don't know how many of you know, but I finally got my own domain. I'm soooo thrilled about it. I've been busy moving things over there. I got alot done, but I still have a long way to go! It's alot of work! I've got it pretty well streamlined, though, so far at least. With the help of my pal Tina, I decided to go with Jenn from Fern Valley. She was sooo much help and so far, I'm loving it! My other pal Rita REALLY helped. I'm not very computer literate so Rita helped me to understand the mumbo jumbo I was staring at each time I logged into my cpanel!lol It's getting easier, but I'm sure there are a million things I'm overlooking, but at this point my main thing is just getting my pages all moved.

Evan gets out of school next Friday. I don't know what the heck I'm gonna do with him all summer!lol They aren't having school on Friday actually, the parents have put together a picnic/ceremony for the kids. They will each get a certificate of achievment and their yearbook, it's kinda like a little graduation I guess you can say. Evan will have one more year at Head Start and then will start kindergarten in the fall of 06 with any luck. He has a long way to go yet, but at his age, the progress is amazing. He's doing great, really he is. I had a meeting with a Parent Educator this morning, it's a service that Head Start offers here. She came over and basically sat with me and talked with me on ways that I can become a better parent. I don't claim to be the greatest mom, I know there are things that I can do better and I want to be the best mom that I can be for Evan. I want him to look back on his childhood and get misty-eyed about the wonderful relationship that we have..lol. I'm not gonna just sit here and say that I want to be everything to Evan that my parents weren't to me, but it wouldn't be a big ol fat lie if I did. I don't want anyone to get me wrong, because I love my mom with every fiber of my being and now that we've grown up and grown closer, we have a great relationship, but my childhood was lacking a bit. I just want to avoid that with Evan and so far I think we're doing great, but as he's getting older and developing more 'attitude', it gets harder and harder!lol Anyway...

We went today after school and joined the library.:) I've been wanting to for awhile, but just kept forgetting. Now with summer though, I know he's gonna need things to occupy him!lol Indoor activities as well as outdoor, but it just gets too hot here to be outside for too long. They have a summer reading program that even little ones that can't read yet can join. Then they have a bedtime stories program each Monday evening at 7 that the whole family can go to, they even encourage the kids to come in their pjs. Now, to find something to do for the rest of the week..lol!

I need to get for now, but will talk again soon. I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday! Enjoy it and kick off the summer with a bang!!

Evening all.:) I hope your week is off to a good start. Mine isn't doing too badly. I had a lovely weekend...birthday and Mother's Day both. Aunt Lou's party went really well I thought. There were alot of people there that I knew I had met BEFORE, but I just can't seem to remember them! Shaun's family is wonderful and I enjoy talking with them even though sometimes it doesn't happen often enough! Family reunions and such seem so few and far between anymore. Anyway...

Shaun missed work today cause of the rain. They get paid though for their birthdays so he's using that so it won't reflect on his check. Hopefully this time next month we'll be back on track with everything! Keepin' my fingers crossed!

I volunteered to stay at school again tomorrow. Evan seems to be doing better with me there and I really enjoy staying to help. Miss Christina threw her back out last week so she's trying to get better! I was told by another mom that she may be out all week...eeek..lol!

Well, my ironing is calling me so I better take care of it! I'll chat with you later! Have a wonderful evening!

I hope you are all having a nice week. Mine has been ok I guess. Can't complain too much. I could but it never does any good anyway, so why bother right?lol I'm not looking forward to this weekend at all. I'm staring 29 in the face, that doesn't bother me. Not really I guess..lol. Hubby's gonna be 33 on Friday, my nephew will be 5 on Friday, too. I get to go and celebrate Aunt Lou's 80th birthday Saturday. Should be a loaded weekend though. With all the birthday celebrations going on coupled with Mother's day on Sunday..I can just imagine all the cake now..lol.

I'm missing my mom alot lately. Not sure why, just one of those things. I go through spells. She's not calling me at all anymore hardly and THAT bothers me. I know she's got a life, but geez, she's my mom! Sorry about the slump, I'm just not feeling like myself lately. I'll get over it. I should get and try to get some things done but I'll blog later. You all have a nice week...what's left of it.

Good Thursday morning folks! I hope you've all been having a wonderful week. Mine has been going well I guess, can't complain too much. We've been a little busy here this past week, so I'm just now getting around to blogging about our special day.:) Those of you who know me, know that me and Shaun celebrated our 4 year anniversary last Thursday. Being that money is tight, we had agreed not to get gifts for one another. I should've known better..lol..these showed up at my door around 2pm...

Aren't they perty!! I was sooooo surprised, he was so sweet to do that! It was only the second time in my LIFE that I had gotten a dozen roses, the first being from my exhubby and he doesn't count!lol I also got some wonderful gifties from some wonderful ladies online, too and I wanted to show them off.:)

This one came from Ivonne at Wonnimania. I so love her graphics and it was so sweet of her to think of us.:)

This one was made by Lynn at Electrik Garden, but was a sweet gift from my sissy Melissa. Thank you so much Melissa, I love it!

This one, I bought from Gerda a while back but just couldn't help but post the cutie here. I adore it!

Anyway, we had a wonderful anniversary. We didn't do anything that night, but on Friday, my 3 nieces came over to stay the night and babysit for us so we could go to dinner and a movie. We had dinner at Tony Roma's and then went to see the Amityville Horror. It was alright, I wasn't really impressed. I am a HUGE horror movie buff and I was a little disappointed. The story veers off a bit from the original and does have a rather interesting twist. We did get one good scare though, I screamed(as did half the theatre!) and Shaun nearly came out of his seat! That in and of itself was worth it! We had free passes, too so that's always a bonus.:) The next day, Saturday, we took the girls back home and picked up our nephew Josh who is gonna be 5 next Friday, also Shaun's birthday. We had given my sister in law and her hubby the other 2 free passes that we had to the movies cause they had to be used by the end of this month. We took Josh off their hands so they could have some alone time. Evan and Josh played for hours together and really were inseperable. I think they are getting better..for awhile I think Evan didn't care to play with him cause Josh is a little hyper sometimes...Evan's not usually, but they did great together. Dave and Shelley(sister in law and her hubby) came over later in the evening after spending the day together and had snacks in hand. We whipped out the Monopoly board and Dave beat all of us to a pulp..lol. It was a very fun evening, I really enjoyed it.

I think I've rambled on enough..lol. I have some things i need to do but I'll talk more later. Thank you again for all of the anniversary wishes, they meant alot to both of us, Shaun sends his thank you hugs as well.:) I wanted to show you guys this pic for those of you who haven't seen it...heehee..he's still as handsome now as we was then.:)

Anyway, I'm going now...later gators!!

Hey folks! Just wanted to stop in with a little update. Well, not much going on really. Getting ready for bed and watching Fear Factor. They do the NASTIEST things on this show! I love it though..lol.

Tomorrow is our 4 year anniversary.:) I'm so happy about it...don't know why, just maybe that I love Shaun as much now as I did they day we got married...probably more. In him I have found true happiness.

Anyway, I wanted to say hey to my sissies and let you all know I'm still here.:) I hope you're all having a great week just as I am. Off to bed for now but I'll write more tomorrow. Night!

Morning ya'll! I hope you're all having a great day today. Mine is going pretty well despite I've got finances on the brain! I'm trying to avoid about 10 bill collectors...keep telling them to take a number and I guess they don't think I'm serious. I don't wanna think about that though!

I HAD to show you guys this cutie that Jaana did for me! Mine and Shaun's 4th anniversary is coming up in about 2 weeks and I asked her to do a Pearl and Earl for me...this is what she came up with!

Now I ask you, is that not the CUTEST thing you've ever seen!? Thank you soooo much Jaana!

Me and my sissy, Melissa are officially starting our weight loss today. We've been working on a blog together so that we can help each other through it cause LORD KNOWS there are gonna be days when we'll need it! Weight loss is soooo much easier when you have friends to back you up and support you! I'll let you know as soon as we have it ready to 'open'.

Anyway...I'm off to get some things done! Helen, if you read this sweetie, I miss you! I hope we can chat soon!! Tammy, same to you hon! Feels like it's been ages since we've talked! Give me a ring anytime! I hope you all have a wonderful day! Hugs all around!!

12:38am

I for real should have my butt in the bed cause I have to be up with the chickens again to get Evan off to school. I can usually sleep in a bit, but my mil did my hair today and you know I've got to mess with it in the morning..lol. I'll post a pic if I can get a decent one!

I hope you're all doing well and enjoying spring so far. I'm not. Looks like we're all getting sick again. Seems like it's hitting us every few weeks now. Ugh. Poor Evan's nose looks like it belongs on Rudolph from us having to wipe it so much. He doesn't know how to really blow it yet and get anything accomplished so he will either wipe it on his sleeve or just across his face, whichever is more convenient! I think this is a toddler thing, mom's feel free to voice your opinions if I'm wrong here! I'm hoping this will pass soon so we get on with enjoying the nice weather we've been having.

I just wanted to say that I sooooo miss chatting with all my gal pals. Helen, you know I think about you every single day hon, never fails. I really had you in my heart when I heard about Terri passing, then again when I saw that the Pope had passed as well. You know they are both in a much better place now. I'll try to give you a call later this week hon.:) Tammy, I miss you talking to you too! It was soooo nice to finally put a voice to the name! Despite that you sound like you could be one of my nieces!lol I really enjoyed our conversation and look forward to it again. Melissa...oh Melissa...my heart is feeling for you now sweetie. I'm glad I've been able to be here for you and will continue to be whenever you need me. I'm thinking about all of you and praying for you, too. Please let me know what's happening!

By the way, I'm up 2 pounds from last week.:( I KNOW it's the fact that we ate out a few times last week so I'm gonna have to work extra hard this week! I'll keep you posted on my progress!

We took care of Latte's fleas, too. We had to go and get the Frontline stuff. I swear vet's must think people are stupid to go and pay almost $50 for it there when you can get it at your local Petco for about $35 or even online for less than that if you aren't in a hurry to get it. Anyway, we did have to take her in for a shot for the tapeworm, though. Was probably the best $20 we've ever spent. She seems soooo much happier now, it's really funny.

Speaking of...anyone who knows me well, probably knows that we face financial burdens on a weekly basis since my hubby was on strike last summer. Well, we live in an apartment complex where there are 4-6 apartments per building. Anyone in our building can clearly see our front door when they go to their own apartments. That being said...we haven't come up with the rent this month. It's $925 a month. It is due on or by the 2nd of each month. If you pay after that, you are charged a $75 late fee and they send you 3Day to Pay or Quit, which basically means, pay us or pack your bags. Well, we KNEW we would get one this month, and we will have the money on Thursday. But when we came home, the notice was taped to our front door in plain view for EVERYONE to see.(3 other people had them, too..) Now, I'm pretty pissed about this. Am I the only one to think that this is an invasion of our privacy?? It is nobody's business what our financial situation is. We've recieved them before, and they were placed in an envelope, taped to the door and then we'd get the copy in the mail. This time, it was just placed flat in the middle of the door, taped all the way across the top and the bottom so that anybody walking by could read it. I'm certainly going to be voicing my opinion about this because I really do think of it as invasion of our privacy. Anyway...

I'm off to bed. I hope you all have a great week!! Hugs all around!

Listening to: India Arie, The Truth

I cannot believe it has been nearly a MONTH since my last post! I didn't realize I had neglected my blog so badly! For those of you who read it on a regular basis, I'm sorry!lol Things have been kinda crazy around the Huckaby household. Let me see...where to start?!

First of all, for the better part of the month, one or all of us have been sick. We found a nasty mold problem in our bedroom closet that I think was where most of our problem was stemming from. That on top of allergies ALREADY was killing me because I'm here all the time. I think they got it taken care of though. I certainly hope so. We are keeping our eye on it in case anything starts to reoccur, as mold often does. My inlaws were kind enough to get us one of those Sharper Image air purifiers. It was costly, and considered to be my and Shaun's birthday gift, but so well worth it.(Shaun and I almost always get a gift together because his birthday is May 6 and mine is May 7.) Anyway...we are all going over to my inlaws tomorrow for Easter dinner and I think it's going to be the first time in weeks that all three of us have been out of the apartment together without having to make a stop at the drug store for something or go to a doctors appointment. Now that WE are on the road to recovery...we found out that despite the fact that Latte is an INDOOR cat, she has fleas. I didn't know she had FLEAS though at first...at first it was when she somehow had her backside turned to me while I was petting her and I saw a worm wiggling out of her backside....gross, I know, but pets sometimes do get worms. I was horrified though, scared, too and so I started looking online to see if I could identify it. Turns out that it's a tapeworm. They develop a tapeworm by accidentally eating a flea, which carries the larvae stage of a tapeworm. The tapeworm breaks off in pieces and works it's way out of the animal, then dies. Most often, it's when they use the potty. Anyway...we have to get her to the vet asap. Money is an issue though right now, and I soooo hate that, but what can we do?! We have to wait til Tuesday to take her, maybe on Monday. Pray for her though, because the vet sometimes if you don't catch it early enough, the animal can develop other worms and that would just KILL me! I love my kitty! Anyway...hhmm, what else. Evan is doing great. He's talking soooo well these days! Putting together sentences that are sometimes 8 or 9 words long. It amazes me when I can actually UNDERSTAND him!lol He seems to be enjoying preschool. He was out for Spring Break this past week. We didn't do much though, weather for the most part didn't permit it. That or something else going on. I'm looking forward to him going back though!lol I love him to death, don't get me wrong, but WOW can he talk your head off! I remember...when he was in the hospital that month when he was born...he had a feeding tube in the better part of that month so he couldn't cry or anything. We'd always say..'When are we gonna hear him cry?'. At that point, you WANT to hear your baby, you know? Well the first night we had him home...MY WORD, we couldn't get him to STOP crying. Then it was..'When are we gonna see him walk?'..same thing...can't chase him fast enough now...then 'When are we gonna hear him talk?'..well, you guessed it!lol I'm thankful though because as a preemie, we could've been faced with ALOT more issues than we have had with him. Blah, blah..I'm sorry, I know I'm rambling!

I would like to say hello to Helen, Tammy, Melissa and Angie...I don't talk to any of you nearly enough! Melissa, I hope you're doing ok hon! Cheri, I'm hoping you're feeling better now! Lisa, I miss you hon,:( I hope you're doing well too. Anyway, I better get. I have some other things I need to get done. I hope you like the new look of my blog. I thought it was time for a change and purple REALLY is growing on my lately! I finally got a tag board up, too so please do leave me a tag and I'll happily return the visit! Hope you all have a wonderful Easter!! God Bless!!!

Listening to:Motley Crue, Without You

Well I wanted to get in one last entry before March was officially upon us! I know, I've been a baaaadd blogger lately. I do apologize for that. I am not up as late as I used to be, so blogging at the end of the day just doesn't seem to happen anymore. I will try to make it a morning routine from now on, we'll see how that works out.

So Evan started preschool again, two weeks ago tomorrow. He's home today, though, not feeling well. I've been sick the past few weeks, so it doesn't surprise me that he's come down with something, too! He seems to be enjoying it for the most part though. He doesn't like it when I have to leave, but I think he will be ok with that within a few weeks, I hope! I've noticed that it usually only take a minute after I leave the room for him to stop crying so that's good. I am certainly loving my alone time in the mornings! It gives me a chance to do things I need to do..WITHOUT interruption!lol

We have also OFFICIALLY started potty training. So far so good, but we can't get him to go poopie on the potty. He freaks out everytime he thinks he's going to and jumps off the pot! He's in regular undies all day, then we of course put him in a diaper at night. He waits til then to do his poopie business, go figure. My goal is to have it all done by the time he turns 4, which is August. I don't think that's too short of time, but this kid is stubborn as a mule, so we'll see!

I know in my last entry I mentioned Evan having a dentist appointment. He did very well! We didn't have a family dentist here in town, so I called that 1-800-DENTIST and they hooked us up with a dentist that we could walk to if we wanted. She was wonderful! Shaun and I are going to be scheduling appointments soon. Evan is scheduled to go back in 6 months for a cleaning and more thorough exam. You can only get a 3 year old to open their mouth so far for a complete stranger trying to shove fingers in!lol He did great though, I was really surprised.

Shaun has started going back to the gym again. He wants to drop 50 pounds by September. I'm sure he won't have any trouble. When we did WW before, he dropped 25 in a matter of weeks. He does really well with that for some reason. He's a stud muffin to me either way!lol But I know he's concerned for his health too. He's really not that much overweight, but you can't tell him that! Worse than a woman, I tell ya! I am not denying that I'd love to see him with a six pack though!heehee!

I think I've about covered everything for now. Helen, I still love ya chic, even though you did tell me last night that I say 'What do you mean' too much!lmao Tammy, I miss talking with you hon, where the heck are ya!? Angie, if you are reading this by some miracle, know that I think of you often sweetie. I miss hearing from you and I hope that all is going well with you and your family. Give Mer a big hug for me. I hope to hear from all of you guys soon! Everyone have a wonderful day!

Ok, so it's Friday and I have allll kinds of good news! First of all, we got all of our insurance stuff straightened out. That means, Evan goes to the dentist for the first time on Monday morning. Just a checkup. He has to get it in order to start preschool. Which I also found out today, he will be starting on TUESDAY! I was so excited when they called with an opening! I had the option, too, morning or aftertoon so I chose morning. I'm not a morning person usually, because I stay up til dawn, but I thought this would force me to be!lol We've also got an appointment for his checkup on Thursday. So that's why I'm all excited. That and...I'm going to my mil's salon tomorrow and getting a perm. I haven't had one in a couple of years, and I thought what the heck. As it is, my hair is so fine and thin, it just lays there on my head so I'm hoping it will give me a little volume! Figures everything else on me is big but my hair!lol I'm looking forward to a little 'me' time though. And I don't know what I'm gonna do with myself when Evan goes back to school! He'll be in five days a week from 7:45-12:15. Will be a nice break for me. Anyway...I'm off to do some work, I'll talk to you guys later! Sorry about that Chick Chat this week Tammy!lol ((Hugs!!))!

K, I've gotta make this fast cause we're watching American Idol and it's just too funny to concentrate on this, too!lol Today was a good day, I got alot done. We had to pay rent, blah. We've pretty much gotten to the point where we have to tell the bill collectors calling to take a number and get at the back of the line! Rent comes first obviously, everything else just kinda falls in place after that. We're keeping the faith, though, just waiting til taxes come in! Anyway...

Again, I'm late doing my Chick Chat, but here it is anyway!lol

Ok so I'm late with these, but here's my Chick Chat anyway! You can play along by going here!

Questions For Jan. 25th
Would You Rather...

1. Be Rich /or/ Have Great Sex For Life?:
Oohh, that's a tough one!lol Think I'd rather be rich though...so long as I got my hubby, I can have both!heehee!

2. Meet: Tom Cruise /or/ Tom Hanks?:
Gonna have to say Tom Hanks. Though I reallllllyyy like looking at Tom Cruise, I think I'd have more to say to Tom Hanks as I really admire him as an actor.

3. Lose A Finger /or/ A Toe?:
A toe hands down.heehee!

4. Take 1 Big Dream Vacation /or/ Lots Of Little Vacations?:
Lots of little ones. There are soooo many places I'd love to see, but don't think I could stand any of them for an extended period of time!

5. Look Like: Jennifer Lopez /or/ Jennifer Aniston?:
Now this is almost one of those you shouldn't even have to ask but I know there are people out there who prefer Aniston to Lopez...I am not one of them. I, being a full figured lady myself(that's putting it delicately!), would give that toe to look like J.Lo!lol In seriousness, they are both lovely, but I think Lopez is just breathtaking. There was a time I would NEVER have said that, but she's grown on me!

Now...that all being said! I hope you guys are all having a nice week so far. I wish that I could say I am but I've been sick since Thursday. I've been whining about it all weekend and I know my hubby and Helen are about to kill me if I don't shutup about it, so I will now!lol I'm honestly feeling a bit better and I hope to kick it soon!

I'm watching Jaws 2 right now. I can't believe I was ever afraid of these movies!lol I look on it now and laugh! But, my butt is numb from sitting here so long so I'm gonna go so I can get some sleep. Oh, I hope you like my new look! I worked and worked on it and finally got it to where I was ok with it. If you're a regular visitor, you know I change it all quite often! Change is good, right!lol Anyway, I love ya guys, have a nice night!

Now, I want to thank everyone who gave me the encouragement and support I needed to get back in there and reopen my site. It wasn't down for just about a month, but I didn't realize how much I'd miss it! I don't claim to have the best graphics out there, Lord knows there are soooo many that are better than mine, but I enjoy doing it just the same. There are so many artists out there whose work I adore and it gives me something to strive for with each pixel.

I'd also like to thank my dear friend Angie for really being there for me when I needed a friend. You knew just what to say hon, and I can't show enough gratitude. I hope that I can one day return the favor. I know our lives get busy, and we may not talk all the time, but it's always nice being able to pick up where we left off. I love ya girl!

And Helen, I'm so glad we've had the chance to get back in touch with one another. I know I've said that a million times over, but I can't stress it enough! It's good to know that my sanity is safe with you!lol You are such a wonderful person and even a better friend and I hope you always know that! I've enjoyed the time we've spent talking and look forward to many more conversations..just let me load my calling card!lol Save some of that wine, too!heehee!

Think I'm done ranting right now! I'm sure I'll have more to carry on about later! You guys have a wonderful week! Hugs all around!

Well, happy belated New Year ya'll. It's been a little bit since I've posted obviously. Evan and I are back at home in California now. We arrived home last Saturday night around 11pm and boy oh boy was it nice to be home. I enjoyed my visit with my family, but it was almost 5 weeks and about 2 weeks too long!lol Evan was just a handful is all, was definitely showing everyone that he was indeed 3!lol But anyway..nothing new, same ol same ol. I'll post later when there's more to say! Hope all is well with everyone! Big hugs all around!!

Well I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. Mine was nice with the exception that Shaun wasn't here. I finally got the Golden Girls DVD collection that I had been wanting since it came out the end of November. Woohoo! The second season comes out next spring! With 9 seasons, I should have them all within about 4 years!lol I got lots of nice things, a beautiful gold bracelet from my sister with diamonds to boot...and the thing I needed most was new socks and got those too! You can always count on mom for those!lol Evan was spoiled as usual...mom got him 2 Blue's Clues videos and I'm soooooo sick of em already!! Over and over and over!! UGH! Not only that, but Evan's bad about turning it on and then leaving the room, with me stuck watching it...he's a stinker I tell ya. Mom gave me and my sisters all a framed photo of my grandmother. We all cried, missing her is so hard sometimes. I also managed to get a photograph of my MOM'S grandparents, I have never had one of them, so I was very lucky to get it at the party that we had with my mom's family. Anyway...I've got to get to bed. Thank you all for the cards and the emails, and the doodles, too...I really enjoy hearing from you guys. Jaana, thank you for the gift sweetie, was sooo nice of you! I adore your work, you know that and I can never have enough of it! I hope you all have a great rest of the weekend! Big hugs all around!

I don't know about where any of you are, but it is coooooolld here! Tonight is supposed to be down to 12 degrees and we won't even TALK about the wind chill! The wind has been stirring all day long and has made it nearly impossible to go outside! We've had a nice toasty fire going all day, so it's been nice and warm in the house. Poor cats haven't been able to go out much all day! When they do, they turn around and come back in a few minutes later!lol Anyway, I hope you're all keeping warm!

Thank you Angie for the sweet gift in my inbox today. Always a nice thing to get surprises! Will be perfect for VDay! I hope you can take advantage of your gift certificate, too!

I have to cut this one short tonight, yet more gifts to wrap now! Hope you all have a blessed Monday! Big hugs all around!!

Tonight was such a wonderful night! We as I had said earlier, had our Christmas get together with my mom's family. There were so many of us there, but it was so much fun! I was so glad to meet all of my cousins and get to know all of the family I haven't been able to see in years! I know my grandmother and her sister would've been proud to see us all together like that. I got some wonderful gifts, too, but too many to get into about!lol Evan got five or six new toys, all of which make some sort of noise!lol Look out daddy, you'll go nuts when we get home with em!heehee! I hope you're all having a great weekend, as great as I am!*wink I will chat with you all later! Big hugs all around!!

12:25am

Here we are a week before Christmas and I'm finally done with my shopping!! I missed most of the rushing, thank goodness. Evan and I TRIED to go to the mall yesterday but oh my, it was sooooo busy!! I never liked going to the mall because I've never liked being in busy crowds, but there's something about the hustle and bustle of the holidays that I just love! Maybe cause we never got to enjoy it when we were growing up cause mom would never take us shopping with her!lol Can't blame her, I'd go without Evan if I could, too, especially as busy as it gets this time of year.

Amy and her hubby are here for the holidays, too with Andres, their 9 month old little boy. He's soooo cute! They seem so happy, and I'm so glad for her. I know she didn't think she'd ever be at this stage in her life, and now here they are in their brand new house, little boy, talking about having another, and have been married almost 3 years. She so deserves happiness and it appears she's found it!

Well I'm off! We have some shopping to finish up in the morning, then tomorrow evening, we're having our get together with my mom's family. This year we had to rent a banquet room at a hotel because my grandmother's sister's children and their children will be there. Some of them I've never even met so it will be fantastic! I think they said we are planning on about 50 so it will be a roomfull! I can't wait because I've not seen some of my very close relatives since last Thanksgiving. Will be great to catch up with everyone! I hope you all have a great weekend! Thank you for coming by!

Paula, I got your card at home in the mail today. Thank you so much sweetie. Shaun read it to me over the phone and described every detail of it for me!lol He asked me how you talk being from Pennsylvania and I didn't have a clue, but he did a very pathetic version!lol It's nice of you to think of me hon, I really appreciate it. I'm off again, just wanted to let you guys know I'm still here and I'm hangin in there despite all the 'rumors' about me being a 'fruitcake' with an imaginary friend named 'Clair'...who happens to be my sis' best bud. She and my sis let me vent today while they were here, I felt alot better! Enough about that!! I'll chat with you all soon!!

December 15, 2004
10:43pm

Boy these past few days have been rather enlightening. I've learned alot about some of the people around me, and even more about myself. In many ways, I owe alot to those 'people', no names mentioned, but they know who they are. They opened my eyes to many things. I'm glad about that and glad the outcome was as it was. Looking back on it, I think it is certainly for the best. So..thanks ya'll.

I'm on what now, day 11 or so since I got here, and I miss my hubby like crazy! I'm hoping I can make it through these next few weeks without killing my kid!lol Evan has been such the handful since we got here! I never knew how much help Shaun really is!! He's always willing to help me with Evan, be it changing poopie diapers or making sure he eats or just taking him out to the park for awhile to give me a breather...anyway you put it, it's such the relief to have that help!! Thank you Shaun!!

My sister had to go to the emergency room tonight. She was very dizzy, light headed and said she felt like her legs were about to give under her. How she got that from what turned out to be a sinus infection, I'll never know. I'm just glad she's ok. We have had a death in our family recently, and that was certainly sad enough for us, can't imagine life without someone like my sister. She's far too important to me. I hate that I never get to see her, but that's what happens when you move clear across the country to live with your hubby. Decisions have to be made somewhere.

I'm off now, I'll most likely be blogging more as I've closed my graphic site and adoption shoppe for now. Not sure if or when I'll reopen. I have some other things I need to take care of for now, other more important things. I hope to still see you guys around though! Big hugs all around!

From time to time, I have those days when all I wanna do is crawl under a rock and stay there, be away from anyone and anything. Today, I am happy to report, though it started out that way, it didn't finish that way. I was having a rough day to begin with, but after talking with Shaun this evening, I feel alot better. I've had alot on my mind, in regards to my site, the future of it, if it even has one...he listens so well to me and offers such guidance. I don't know where I'd be if it weren't for him. I hope all of you ladies can one day say you are as blessed as I am with such a wonderful and loving spouse/mate, if you can't already. Shaun, if you're reading this, thank you so much for listening and understanding that I need to vent sometimes. I really appreciate that you care about what happens to me, even though it might not seem like a huge deal. It means alot to me to know that you care so much. I love you sweetie!!!

Today was my Grandma's birthday...she's not been with us for about 15 years now, but I still hold her very dear and close to my heart. She was a wonderful woman. Her name was Madge..I always thought that was a very odd name, but now, it's the sweetest sound to my ears. I love you Grandma and I'm thinking of you often.

Our stay in Alabama is going well. We haven't seen many people, but we still have a long time to go yet. We're just trying to get ready for the holidays right now. Me and Evan went shopping with my dad yesterday for my mom's Christmas gifts. He's not a very patient shopper...I like to take my time! I'll say no more about that!lol It's nice being here with mom though. I love spending time with her and I can't get enough of it sometimes. She's become a real friend to me as I've gotten older...you know how it is for most teenagers though, she was so old then!lol Not anymore, I can talk to her about anything. Evan seems to just go right back into the swing of things when he visits. He might only see my folks once or twice a year, but you wouldn't know it. It's like there's been no distance or time between him and his gramma and papa at all. Papa can't seem to get out of his site when he's here, it's hilarious really. And I heard mom saying to him on the other end of the house yesterday 'How many hands do you GOT?!'...she calls him Octopuss cause he just reaches for everything!lol Anyway...

I'm sad to say that I have been really disappointed in some people since I left. You seem to learn over time and seperation who your true friends are, and I do believe I have. I have had one friend in my life who has remained true to me through anything and everything we've been through..even the distance between us now is only in miles. Amy, bless her heart, was, is, and will always be my very best friend. I love her like no other and I want her to know that. There won't ever be another that can take your place girl!

I'm off again, but I'm sure I'll chat with ya'll later! Have a great weekend!

10:32pm

Welllll...that had to be the longest day of my whole freakin' life. As most of you know, we are now safely at home here with my mom and dad in Alabama, where Evan and I will be spending the holidays. We flew out of Sacramento last night around 10pm and landed here in Huntsville around 10am this morning. It wasn't the flying part that was so bad, it was the 3 hour layover we had in Atlanta this morning that killed me. Evan was exhausted because he hadn't really had any good sleep and he just wanted to leave, but just didn't understand that we couldn't til the plane was ready for us to leave! OMG!! I can't count how many times I heard this kid say "Go bye-bye??"!! I was so ready to pull my hair out by the time our plane was supposed to board, then they started with the delay. We were delayed nearly an hour and I guess usually that would not be a huge deal, but when you've ALREADY been there for a few hours, it seems like a lifetime! Unfortunately, we suffer the same on the way home in January, but that will definitely be the last time I do one layover! Anyway....!! I didn't think I was going to have access to a computer while I was here, but it seems my parents have moved the computer into the guest room where I'll be sleeping, so I'll have a little time if I choose to. I'm glad to at least be able to blog. I'll be on from time to time to see what's up and see if I'm missing much!lol I hope to chat with you guys later! Honey if you are reading this, I miss you already! It's going to be a long month without you, but I'm always thinking of you! Big hugs!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm updating, even at this awful hour of the morning! Just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful holiday and send my best to you and yours. I'm off again, I'll chat with you all later! Hugs all around!!

Holy moly has it been nearly a month since I blogged! Sooo sorry for those of you who read this on a regular basis...just think of it as helping you out as it's one less blog you have to read!lol

I hope everyone is doing well. Everyone ready for the holidays? I know I am...I love this time of year. When I was a kid, it was always the presents...what am I getting, who's getting me something better?!lol It's different now...more and more, I'm realizing the importance of the holidays and wishing they could last all year long. I love spending the time with family and friends and catching up on the time that's passed...all over a heaping pile of mashed potatoes mind you!lol We'll be spending Thanksgiving with Shaun's family. I enjoy that because they are such a light hearted bunch. You can't have a conversation with his dad or mom without nearly peeing your pants from laughing so hard. Plus, his dad is the most wonderful cook! Evan and I are flying out to Alabama for Christmas then. We leave on December 4th and come back January 8th. Shaun couldn't take the time off of work so we'll be without him this Christmas. In my heart though you can rest assured. This is the first holiday we'll be spending apart, and last if I have any say. He wanted us to go though, even when I resisted at first because he knew how much it would mean to my folks to have me and Evan out there. It will be a nice visit though. Evan has done sooooo much growing up since they saw him last. He and my dad are going to have a blast I know. Everytime we've been out there, he's been papa's little man, and I'm sure this time will be no different! He's learned alot of words since last year though and is quite good at speaking his mind and I'm sure the first time my mom hears him say 'Love you grandma', it'll just melt her heart! Anyway...

Evan...what to say about Evan. With each day I am more and more amazed at how he's growing. I catch him doing something as simple as putting his spoon in the sink when he's done with his oatmeal in the morning and it's like...wow...he learned to do that!lol He's so cute, always wanting to help me around the apartment..be it doing laundry or making the beds or even doing the dishes, he's such a help! And his talking has come sooooooo far. He's our parrot, repeats nearly everything we say, but it's when you hear him use it in the right context that it just blows me away. He is quite the chatterbox, too but I guess he comes by that honestly as his mama is too.(heehee!) I'm in the process of updating his pages and will hopefully have them up and running again before we leave.

I think that about does it for now. I promise to update more but do forgive me when I'm gone! I'm off to bed soon so I'll chat with ya'll later!

2:46am

Soooo, here I am...it's been how long since my last entry?! Yeah, yeah, I know...bad blogger, bad! So sorry for the delay. As some of you know, we just moved. We've been here in our new apartment for almost a week now. It's so much nicer, I can't even tell ya. It's not even that big, but compared to what we were living in, it's huge! We're only 2 blocks from our old place, but it's a nicer area in the neighborhood. We have a wonderful view to boot! We're not on a main road so it's waaaay quieter, too with the exception of the few ducks that are still around. Evan seems to love all the extra space to run around and me, well I can't wait to pull out the holiday decor! I've never had so much space to put lights and tinsel and mistletoe! Anyway...Shaun's working a night pour tonight so he's gonna be home around 11am. It's mucho dinero for the night pours so he jumped at the chance after he missed 3 days this week because of the weather. Was nice having him here though, especially in a new place. I didn't feel so alone when he had to leave at such an early hour. Anyway...I should get to bed soon..just needed to change all of this over so I could get to it easier. I'll be changing my graphics this week I think on our family site...too ready for the holidays and Halloween is almost here, so I need to get an early start!lol Thank you all so much for coming by and checking on us. I really get tickled reading all of the doodles! Especially you Paula!lol No more laundry room for me! My sister in law and her hubby GAVE us their Maytags, can you believe it! I've been on top of laundry ever since we moved in! Shaun was actually complaining that I was doing it too much!lol I'm just excited to be able to do it...even naked if I want!lmao Ok, so don't try to visualize that! Anyway...nice chattin' with ya'll...hope you all have a wonderful weekend!! Big hugs allllll around!!!

October 8, 2004
6:10am

Oh my...I didn't realize it had been so long since I blogged!! So sorry for all of you guys that visit me on a regular basis! I have had alot of problems opening up my page builder lately and that's why...cause when I try to blog, I have be patient enough to open it up! It was just by luck that it opened now!lol I think while I have it open though I'm going to try to transfer it all over to the html builder so I don't have to mess with the page builder at all! Anywho...I hope you are all doing very well. We've been taking things one day at a time around here. We are probably going to be moving at the end of the month. Just to a larger apartment within our complex. As it is, we live in a 2 bedroom, 1 bath and pay $890/month. I think that's just nuts...especially compared to what I was paying in Alabama! We just want more room and a freakin' WASHER AND DRYER!!! I hate having to go to the laundry room, it stinks!! Evan makes it a memorable experience every time as you can well imagine! He loves to go outside as most kids do and it's hard to run around and chase him while I've got a big basket of laundry on my hip! Anyway, Shaun's parents are talking about buying a condo close to where my SIL lives and letting us make the payments on it and in a few years when they are ready to retire and we are ready to move back to Alabama, then we'll sell it and split the equity. I kinda like the idea, but kinda don't too! I have my reasons!lol Anyway, I should get cause we have some errands to run this morning. So again, I'm sooo sorry that I've been a bad blogger! I'll be better I promise! Thank you all for taking the time to come by and check on me! Means alot! Hugs all around!!

Well, I hope this finds you all doing just peachy. I know I haven't blogged lately, and I didn't think I was going to be able to tonight because I couldn't get my page builder open, but here I am...finally! Nothing new really...just that the strike was officially over on Saturday. Shaun hasn't gone back to work yet because they have been busy trying to rebuild their customer base. He has a start time tomorrow of 7:30 though! So, we may be ok yet. Knock on wood! I hope all of you over there in Ivan's path are keeping safe. My mom and dad are on the outskirts of it in Huntsville, Alabama so hopefully they won't see too much of it. I'll be praying for everyone's safety though just to be on the safe side! I have to make this short, but I'll be back soon I assure you. Please everyone, take care and know I'm thinking of you!

September 3, 2004
12:00am

We've had a nice day today. We finally got out of the house for a little while, and no worries, we didn't go parking in any parking garages! We learned our lesson the hard way! Strike is still on and my hubby is starting to really work my last nerve!lol Bless his heart I know he means well for the most part, but I'm not used to having him here allllll the time and he's been home now for 2 months. We keep telling ourselves, maybe tomorrow will be the day, but still nothing. Please keep your fingers crossed for us! Anyway, I just wanted to say hi to all of ya'll and let you know I'm still here! Thank you all for going by our family site and saying hello. I always enjoy having friends near and it tickles me silly to get doodles:). Anyway, you all have a wonderful Friday! I'm gonna try! Love all around!

Well.....it's been a long week. And here we are at the start of a new one. We've all been sick around here. Three or four nights ago, I started feeling very ill and I was sick to my tummy. I slept all day the next day with the exception of the few times I got up to toss my cookies. The day after, I started feeling better but Shaun was starting to feel it. He was having the same pains I was. Then a few hours after that, Evan started getting sick. He's tossed his cookies 3 times already the poor thing. He'll grab his tummy and say "What is that?" it's sooo sad! I'm just glad he's able to tell us it hurts now when it used to be a guessing game. I think we're all getting better now. Shaun slept the better part of the day and I guess we'll have to see how Evan is feeling in the morning. Anyway...our pc was sick too, but I think we got all the bugs out of it, too. The strike is still going. For 2 months now. I can't believe it myself. We thought it would be maybe a week or two, but never thought it would get this far. I don't even like to think about it so I'm not gonna say anymore! I hope you all have a wonderful week and good luck to all of you parents getting your kids off to school!! Big hugs all around!!
