Devyn's Personal Homepage
Welcome to my personal homepage. This homepage was created because I am taking an English 365 class at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This English class is a mixture of different things, from having your own website to knowing the proper methods of going to a job interview. The class is very informative and time consuming. The web pages we are creating are allowing us to make up our own personal homepage on the Internet. I have decided to do my homepage on my college years here at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. This page will be full of my interests while attending school. It will also include my major and why I choose that particular one, my job interests, hobbies, and especially very interesting places I have attended while in college.
Click on any of these topics to find out more about my college career and me. Some maybe very interesting to you so I have provided the addresses to many of my favorite places.

Whether it's in a sorority/fraternity or anything that allows you to do something other than work and school, because it makes the time go faster and more enjoyable. Now, I am fixing to graduate and I thought the day would never come. In December I will finally be rid of books, teachers and HOMEWORK, but I am sure my job will have some little extras that I will have to do as homework. I plan to graduate in General Studies, but I want to go back next fall to start working on a second degree in secondary education. That has been my dream since I was little. I think I have the patience and want to be a teacher. Teaching I think is one of the hardest
professions today, considering that children do not respect anyone. UL of L Top

It wasn't until Julie
saw me one afternoon on campus I was walking to class and we passed each other and we started talking. She had invited me to New Orleans. This was the best ROAD TRIP ever. We started off by going to Thibodeaux which was where Kristen is from. Not one of us knew any of the people she introduced us to, but we
definitely enjoyed ourselves. The next day we left and went to New Orleans, we had the best time. We stayed out until five in the morning. This was where it all began, from that moment
on the four of us were inseparable. We went everywhere together. In the spring of 98 New Orleans became our second home, we were there practically every weekend. This was the first time in my life that I could actually say I was happy. My friends were there when I began college and they will be with me forever. Top

My best friend Katherine and I live at the mall or any other boutique we find on the way there. She is my shopping buddy, sometimes I think she is worse than I am. When I figured out I had a problem with clothes and shoes was when I was organizing my closet, which is every time the season changes, I had bought a new shelf to hold my clothes. I had just finished with it and I came back the next day and it had fallen. I had so many pieces of clothing that the rod had fallen out of the wall and pulled the sheetrock off. So now I have to completely redo my whole closet.
My mother said that if I brought home another piece of clothing she would kill me. Now that I can't go shopping anymore I have no idea what I will do with my spare time. I guess exercising will have to do. Here are some of my favorite places to shop: EnVie, The Limited, The Gap, Banana Republic, Express, Abercrombie and Fitch.

Then I moved on to aftercare at Cathedral Carmel. This is where I fell in love with the two most adorable children and the parents were just happened to be looking for a full time babysitter. I jumped at the chance to
baby-sit them not knowing what I was getting myself into. I ended up babysitting for them for two
and a half years. This job was so demanding their dad was a lawyer and worked long hours, so it was my job to feed them, put them to bed and sometimes spend the night to take them to school in the morning. After two and a half years I didn't think I could be their hired mom anymore so I left the family.
Then I started working at Carruth's, I have to say this was my favorite job, because I was assistant manager in a small boutique with my cousin. The store was
completely ours, we were able to buy the clothing we were going to sell in the store, and do our own decorating within the store. This is when I knew that I wanted to do retail before I started teaching. In that line of business especially in a small boutique, you meet so many different people. Working in this environment allows your personality to show through. Top

After graduation all of my friends and I went to Cancun, Mexico. This is an experience. Just think of a bunch of 18 year olds alone in Mexico. The hotel we were staying at was the Pink Flamingo. I will never forget this trip for as long as I live. I have never been to a country where everywhere you turn there was a bar and a swimming pool. The water over there is crystal clear but they had a very strong current, so we were unable to swim very far. Cancun

While I was in college the family I was babysitting for went on a trip to the Virgin Islands. The Island, St. Marteen, was beautiful; the waters were crystal blue. We stayed in a resort area where everything was all inclusive. The reason for us going
there was because their dad was getting remarried. Virgin Islands Top
