“Words”

Minutes spent alone
In the patients of silence
Forgetting the cuts on my hands
Given in battle
Of minute proportions
Of the mountains yet to bow
The wind in the line
Of finished thought
Profound and not understood
I’ll sit here in the rush of patience
Mistaking the light for fault
Letters and angles undone
In the spoken sound of lips
Poking the world in the eye
Ha, now I’ve learned a secret!
Perish in the flames of antiquity
No one knows anymore
If those words that were thoughts
Were transcribed rightly by the fools
Who knew themselves
In joining the pen as one.
I let my mind take the wheel,
Unjustly it may be taken,
So I will save it in the crib
Unlike the bounds of lines
This flowing river’s ceiling
Will reach a point when I will breathe
A moment before under siege
And my mind swims in its name
Oh blessed are the ones
Who transposed their thoughts
On contact color paper
Harnessing the might of the atom
The things the world loves most
Yet it is tethered by the limits
That thought has to it
These words, these chains
Are thus bound
