Mr. Bones! Mr. Bones!
Mr. Bones has come to dine!
Bony head, bony chest, bony hands and feet.
Mr. Bones has come to dine,
won't you have a seat?
Have some salad? Mozarella?
Pizza pie with with pepperoni?
Tortellini? Ravioli? Macaroni? Skeletoni?

We had so much fun making our pasta skeletons! I think everyone did a fantastic job.

Here is a close up view of one.
Materials we used:

Black construction paper- { I used a white crayon to make a small circle for placing the head and a line for the spine. This seemed to help everyone get a good start for placement.}
Head= Gnocchi {Large shells can be used but I like the shape of the Gnocchi.}
Back Bone= Rotini
Arms/Legs= Fusilli
pelvis= Lima Beans
Ribs= Elbow Macaroni
Elbows/Knees/Hands/Feet= Tiny Shells {These were a but difficult for my 1st graders and some chose not to use them.}
Fingers/Toes= broken pieces of spaghetti
Lots of white "squeezy" glue!

Some of the books we read included:
A Book About Your Skeleton by Ruth Belov Gross Bonesby Stephen Krensky
Dem Bones by Bob Barner
Skeleton Bones and Goblin Groans: Poems for Halloween by Amy E. Sklansky
Skeleton Hiccups by Margery Cuyler
The Skeleton Inside You by Philip Balestrino
