Friendship Activity Ideas

Friendship braceletsEach child strings 4 beads onto an 8-9" piece of yarn and tie to form a bracelet. The beads should be red, blue, yellow & green. Tell what each color represents- red- honesty, blue-trust, green-fairness, yellow-compassion. Exchange with a friend.

Friendship Quilt-On a 4" X 4" piece of construction paper, each child illustrates/writes about the things friends do together. Punch holes around the perimeter of the quilt squares and connect each with yarn.
This can also be done with squares of muslin and fabric crayons. If you don't sew, ask for a parent volunteer to sew the squares together.

Friendship Fish- Children decorate a construction paper fish shape with torn or cut paper scraps; add a silver scale to represent the sharing of Rainbow Fish.

Friendship Mix- Ask for contributions of the following items for a mix to share: peanuts, raisins, mini pretzels, cheese crackers, M&M's, alphabet cereal, Fruit Loop type cereal, etc. After mixing all items in a large bowl, each child gets a cup, baggy or bowl of the mix.

Friendship Chain- Each child will write their name on an 8" X 2" strip of colored construction paper. Attach all the chains together and hang in the room or attach to a bulletin board.
