Perhaps I'm being a little to soft on the ratings having award the full five stars to two games. But I'm not kidding around because this is the best game I have ever played. Not only did this game bring back the realistic Zelda touch after a few years but it also brung out the Zelda series for what it can be. For starters the storyline is great, and brings in dramatic suprises that I won't reveal. The graphics are excellent! Besides the close to anime characters and detailed monsters I felt as if this game was real life! Now on to the gameplay! I've only played the Wii version so as far as gamecube controls go I'm not an expert, but the Wii controls are great! With the flick of the Wii remote or nunchuck you can release some cool sword moves (such as the jab or the well known spin attack). Also targeting is easy as pie (eating it not making it of course) with the wii remote so that quick shooting an enemy with the bow isn't a struggle. This game brings out what you'd expect of a good Zelda game and more. It's dungeons mind bending and the experience will last (in other words the dungeons will take a while to beat as well as having 9 to name). Also the bosses are awsome on this game. The are massive and difficult but rather than being an annoying obstacle like in some games, a boss is a fun challenge that you'll need all you gaming skill to beat. This Zelda game brings more than dungeons and bosses to the gameplay! Now you'll get to play as the wolf and Midna throughout the game aswell as horseback riding, playing extra minigames, and more. Lets go one at a time now. Turning into a wolf creates a whole new side to the game (risky for developers to do but they managed to improve the game rather than destroy it with this feature). You'll have to use the wolf for several tasks as well as exploration and extras. Horseback riding from ocorina of time has returned better than ever. This time you can use your sword and it is a lot easier to control. You'll also use epona to joust in feirce battles. Some tasks on Epona include jousting a goblin and guiding a wagon through the land aswell as defending it. Now unlike our other two extras minigames are optional. Now I'm not talking Mario party, I mean stuff like fishing, point scoring rides and more. Now their not fabulous but they do give you an option of what to do after beating the game. The only drawbacks to this game are a slow begining and a little more. Otherwise this is a game that all gamecube or Wii owners should have. 11/30/08 Side Note: I have changed the ratings on many games without distorting the actual review itself. However this one has a little more to clarify on. This is indeed not as good as I said years ago. It's a tad easy and has a few loose ends in the story. It's still very good and everybody should have it but in the long run it only deserves and 4 1/2.
