EMBROIDERY WAVES TUTORIAL

This tutorial is from my own ideas while playing in PSP.

This tutorial was written in PSP9, but could easily be done in any other version of PSP. You will need to have a knowledge of the program and its tools.

 

 

Supplies:

Tube and Accents of choice

Mask - 85MaskkelsWWA.jpg (at bottom of tutorial)

 

Filters:

Birgits Chaos - Embroidery

 

*Install your filter before opening PSP

Import your two brushes into PSP

 

 

*All settings will remain the same unless stated otherwise*

 

HEADER

 

1. Open your tube of choice. Duplicate (Shift D) and close the original.

Open your 85MasskelsWWA.jpg and your accents in psp and minimize.

 

2. Resize your tube to 380 pixels in height - width will self adjust      

Resize using Smart Size; Lock Aspect Ratio Checked;

All Layers Checked

Edit> Copy your tube and minimize for later.

 

3. Select a medium/dark color for your foreground and a light color for your background.

 

4. File> New 700 x 550 pixels.

 

5. Flood fill with your light color.

 

6. Adjust> Add/Remove Noise> Add Noise

Uniform 5% Monochrome Selected

 

7. Effects> Texture Effects> Texture> Paper Fine

Size 25% Smoothness 0 Depth 1 Ambience 0 Shininess 0 Angle 315 Intensity 50 Elevation 30 Color White

 

8. Effects> Image Effects> Seamless Tiling (Default).

 

9. Layers> New Raster Layer

Flood Fill with your dark color.

 

10. Adjust> Add/Remove Noise.

 

11. Layers> New Mask Layer> From Image

Select 85MaskkelsWWA.jpg

Source luminance checked. OK

 

12. Layers> Merge Layer Group.

 

13.  Effects> 3D Effects> Drop Shadow

V/H 0 Opacity 60 Blur 3.00

 

14. Edit> Paste as a New Layer (your tube)

Arrange to your liking.

 

15. Effects> 3D Effects> Drop Shadow

Apply a Drop Shadow of your choice or use the same as last used.

 

16. Layers> New Raster Layer

Apply your Watermark and any accents you like.

 

17. Layers> Merge> Merge Visible.

**You may now resize your image if you like.

 

18. File> Export at 20-25% jpg compression and save.

You can now close your header out as we are finished with it.

 

 

BACKGROUND

 

1. File> New> 40 x 400 pixels.

 

2. Flood fill with your dark color.

 

3. Selections> Select All

Edit> Paste into selection (your tube)

Select None.

 

4. Effects> Image Effects> Seamless Tiling (Default).

 

5. Adjust> Add/Remove Noise> Add Noise

Uniform 5% Monochrome Selected.

 

6. Effects> Plugins> Birgits Chaos> Embroidery

Controls 1-4 on 255 Stripes or Pattern 255

 

7. Image> Add Borders (Symmetric Unchecked)

Top, Left, Bottom - 0, Right 2 using your dark color.

 

8. Image> Add Borders your light color.

 

9. Layers> Promote Background Layer.

 

10. Image> Canvas Size 88 x 400

Lock Aspect Ratio Unchecked, Placement Left Center

 

11. Layers> Duplicate

Image> Mirror

Layers> Merge> Merge Visible.

 

12. Image> Add Borders

Left/Right 2 - your light color

 

13. Image> Add Borders - your dark color

 

14. Effects> Image Effects> Seamless Tiling

Corner/Vertical 0/50

 

15. Image> Canvas Size 1700 (or your preferred width) x 400

 

16. Effects> 3D Effects> Drop Shadow

Vertical  0, Horizontal 3, Opacity 60, Blur 10.00, Shadow on new layer checked, color black

 

17. Effects> Image Effects> Seamless Tiling

 

18. Layers> Merge> Merge Visible

 

19. Layers> New Raster Layer

Arrange> Send to Bottom

 

20. Flood fill with your light color

 

21. Adjust> Add/Remove Noise> Add Noise

Uniform 5% Monochrome Selected

 

22. Effects> Texture Effects> Texture> Paper Fine

Size 25% Smoothness 0 Depth 1 Ambience 0 Shininess 0 Angle 315 Intensity 50 Elevation 30 Color White

 

23. Effects> Image Effects> Seamless Tiling (Default).

 

*Optional> Add any text and accents at this point

 

24. File> Export at 20-25% jpg compression and save

 

Run through Letter Creator and  you have a new stationery
