Goals
The
goals of integrating the technology into my curriculum are to expose my
kindergarten students to the internet, to develop their computer literacy
skills, and to expose them to new ideas and concepts.
My
portfolio includes activities based in math, language arts, and science. It includes the following activities:
1.
Web
Quest Activity: Students will be
detectives on the web site and will use their computer and reading skills to
complete an activity with a partner(s).
2.
Collaborative
Internet Project: Students will
participate in the Monster Exchange Project in which they will communicate with
another school through the use of the web site in order to “create a monster.”
3.
Integrated
Computer Lesson: Students will complete
a lesson on volcanoes which includes activities from various web sites. The y will complete a series of activities on
an activity chart; they will complete a performance task and will be assessed
using a rubric.
4.
Data
Collection Activities: Students will
complete a series of real time data activities based in earth and space
science, physical science, and life science.
They will use the internet to do the research and will complete a
processing activity with their group for each.
5.
Online
Resources: A listing of online resources that can be used by students and
teachers to introduce and reinforce a variety of curriculum areas.
