Goals

The goals of integrating the technology into my curriculum are to expose my kindergarten students to the internet, to develop their computer literacy skills, and to expose them to new ideas and concepts.

My portfolio includes activities based in math, language arts, and science.  It includes the following activities:

1.       Web Quest Activity:  Students will be detectives on the web site and will use their computer and reading skills to complete an activity with a partner(s).

2.     Collaborative Internet Project:  Students will participate in the Monster Exchange Project in which they will communicate with another school through the use of the web site in order to “create a monster.”

3.     Integrated Computer Lesson:  Students will complete a lesson on volcanoes which includes activities from various web sites.  The y will complete a series of activities on an activity chart; they will complete a performance task and will be assessed using a rubric.

4.     Data Collection Activities:  Students will complete a series of real time data activities based in earth and space science, physical science, and life science.  They will use the internet to do the research and will complete a processing activity with their group for each.

5.     Online Resources: A listing of online resources that can be used by students and teachers to introduce and reinforce a variety of curriculum areas.
