| Profile NAME: Viggo Mortensen D.O.B: October 20 1958 BIOGRAPHY: He's 44 years old and he's starred in over 32 motion pictures, his most recent to date being the Lord of the rings. Born on October 20 1958 in Manhatten. He had a Danish father and an American mother and made his debut on the movie screens in Miami Vice in 1984 at the age of 26. As a child Mortensen's family travelled a lot so by the time the role of Aragorn arrived Mortensen had developed an ability to adapt to new surroundings easily. Therefore he feels certain similarities to the wandering Ranger known as 'Strider'. The role of Aragorn in the Lord of the Rings trilogy is a complex and tough job, just suitable for Mortensen. In an interview he confessed that he could relate to characters that find themselves set apart from those around them, as Aragorn does. But with a career expanding from 30 films, Mortensen can hardly say he's the "Keep to myself type". This filmography incules recents box office smashes like G.I Jane, A perfect Murder and Psycho. But he is a man of many talents as he is not only an actor but also a painter and a poet and is referred to as "Renaissance Man". |
