There are many groups and organizations across Philenos.
Many are regional. Listed below are some of the few groups
that stretch across the boundries of nations. These are just the
major groups.
Other
Brotherhood of the Bloodmoon
The Brotherhood are a group composed of Clerics, Mages, Monks, Warrior
Mages and Bloodmoon Mages. They constantly fight to oppose evil and furhter
the cause of god. Many but not all worship the groups founder, The God of
Magic, Thadius Bloodmoon. He formed the brotherhood to oppose Shaylock during
his reign as a mortal.
There home base is in the dense forest region of Desar, but they have a presense in all by
the most sparsely populated sections of Philenos.
Each class make up a branch of the Brotherhood, but they all report back to a core
group of Bloodmoon Mages that are the elite inner circle.
Children of the Light
The Children of the Light are a group of underworld denizens that worship the
Goddess of Light, Lightonia. They are considered to be demented by many of
the other underworld residents. They are composed of Drow, Goblins,
Orcs, and a few Kobolds. Some have journyed to the surface world and spread the word
of Lightonia there, to show that they are not all evil. Many remain below ground and try to
enlighten the mass of Underworld residents. They give up the use of any darkness spell
ablities they have, and Lightonia blesses them with the ablitity to cast the Daylight spell.
Dark Skulls
The Dark Skulls are a highly trained and extremely competant group of
assassins. They are devote followers of Shaylock. Their reach extends
throughout the realms. The actual number of members is not known. It is
impossible to go looking for them to hire, anyone doing so ends up their latest victim. If you
have a need for their service, they somehow know, and they contact you.
It is also impossible to go looking for them to join them, if they think you are worthy, they
will approach you.
The Golden Eye
The Golden Eye is rumored to be an intelligence network that extends across
the length and breadth of Philenos. It supposedly has agents everywhere,
collecting information for the Sorceror Lords of Sorain.
Very little happens anywhere in Philenos that they do not know about. They are
organized in a complex cell arrangement so it is almost impossible to track it to it's source.
Only the inner circle of the group know the full extent of its reach. Although escentially
Neutral, their main goal is to keep tabs on Evil and make sure no one becomes as powerful
as Shaylock, ever again. They try to maintain the balance between good and evil.
Working towards this end, they often come in conflict with the Dark Skulls, and
sometime even with the Bloodmoon Mages, but conflict with the mages is usually resolved
non-violently.
The only way to tell a member or scout of the group, is to spot they Golden Eye insignia
that they all carry. This is often not as easy as it sounds..
Green Leaves
The Green Leaves are a group of Rangers, Druids, and Forestmages that have
banded together to protect the forest of Philenos. They are based in the Elven
nation of Mazon on the Teruno continent. They can be spotted easily by the
green leaf symbol they all wear, and a tendency to wear green.
If there is an agenda of the organization, it is unknown by outsiders. They are a fairly
secretive group, but they maintain a high profile existance.
Monks of the Dragon Spire
Although isolated monasteries dot Philenos, a majority of the monks of
Philenos can be found in the Dragon Spire mountains of Tuoto. Located
between the Human kingdom of Shylon and the Mouglan kingdom of
Myrdon, the vast range is very harazdous to travelers.
While searching for enlightment, the monks patrol the traveled areas, making travel as save
as possible. There are rumors of hidden evil monasteries that prey on unsuspect travelers as
well, but the majority of the monks deny their existance, and the few reports of these dark
monasteries remain unconfirmed.
