Pator was the first country founded by the new races after The Arrival. Eventually most of the other races left to form their own nations. Today, it's population is primarily human.
It is well now for it's honest hard working people. It has a very compitent military and provides grain and other produce for a majority of the known world. As a result, even the lowest serf tends to be a little better off then the average citizen of Philenos.
In the 500th year after The Arrival, the elven people had a disagreement with the other new races over the use of their lands. The elves believed in a lifestyle that was more intune with nature then the other races.
As a result, they headed north in mass through the mountains the dwarves and settle in and claimed the Great Denge Forest as their home. The forest covered the northern third of Teruno.
Along to way, they elven noble houses divided up part of the forest to settle in with their subjects.
In the year 720 AA (After Arrival), the elves found and ancient abandon fortress deep in the eastern part of the forest. The elven ruling house, Eloniana, claimed the area as their's and set about rebuilding and improving on the fortress to make it their home.
The site was rich in magical energy, they named their city Faerl Ssussan, meaning  Magical Light after the way the building material of the city glowed at night.
It is still the capital of Mazon today and Queen Illiania Eloniana rules the elven people from there. It is the largest city in the elven nation, and one of only two actual cities.
When the new races first arrived on Philenos, they arrived through an ancient gate in the center of Tereno. Teruno, at that time, was one joined, primarily flat continent. There was a small range of mountains in the center of the continent and lush forest scattered across the continent. The early settlers quickly spread out across the land. They remained one, large truly democratic nation. Crime was virtually non-existant, everyone lived in peace and harmony in their new found paradise.
The Teruno of today differs greatly from those early golden years.
