Visions
I see you
by the bookcase,
hand on the rocker
my mother left me,
out of the corner of
my eye as I
pass the bed --
place my hand on the
shower wall
and close my eyes as the
water warms my body
like you
warm my heart.
The space between
present and past
dreams and my reality combine--
Time brings wisdom,
the ancients say and
I found you again in friendship
Now, I see you,
your eyes loving
across oceans and
I smile as I sit at the
desk I built
reading your words.
You are my
new love my
old love renewed
stronger perhaps
by experience,
adversity.
I see you,
walking to me across the
floor I mopped three times
in preparation for you and as
I snuggle where we snuggled
surrounded by winter darkness,
I send a hug to my
sailor in my
Sabbath prayer.
More Poetry...
Wireless
Grinning up at me
From the blue frame by my
Computer you
Send me to dreamland
Dementia forgotten
As I wander on the
Clouds of a daydream world where
We are looking into
each others eyes in life
not photographs.
Our love,
strong as steel cables
Stretches across the miles
Our own special
wires unbreakable by
distance heating up the
country between us
Tying our hearts together
As we plan for
a wire-less future.
Homecoming Countdown
Dreaming, scheming
patiently impatient Im
waiting for you--
polished
trimmed
sandblasted teeth grinning
with glossy lips
counting down
T minus 46 hours
Pink toenails tapping
Feet under skirt
Aching to run to you
Fingers tapping keys
Aching to be wrapped
Around your neck
Eyes gazing into dreamland
Aching to be looking into yours
Butterfly in my tummy
Curled toes
Leaving home in 2 hours time
to find my hearts home
with you.
