Family Rules of Conduct

The following is a suggested list of rules for the home, based on God's Word.

1. Obey the ten Commandments in Exodus 20 at all times.
This house will serve and obey the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)

2. Children will obey quickly and quietly at all times.
(I Timothy 3:4-5; Ephesians 6:1-4)

3. No anger; No Bitterness; No display of wrath; No ugly talking to one another will be permitted; Kindness, forgiveness, and love will rule our home.
(Proverbs 13:3; Ephesians 4:30-32)

4. No lying or stealing. (Ephesians 4:25-28)

5. Christian love will be expressed between family members at all times. (I John 4:20-21; John 13:34-35)

6. Confess our sins and repent immediately (quickly) when we sin; knowing that God always punishes our sins.
(Revelation 3:19; Psalms 139:23-24)

7. Children will understand that punishment and teaching are because we love them, because the Bible commands it, and for their own good.
(Hebrews 12:5-11; Proverbs 13:24; 19:18; 22:6; 22:15; and 23:13)

8. Righteous living -- Both doing what is right and avoiding what is wrong -- and the Lords work at church will be first and most important things in our lives.
(Matthew 6:33; Jeremiah 7:23)

9. The Bible instructs us to stay away from people, places, and things that are evil. We are told to get away quickly (flee). (Psalms 1:1-3; Proverbs 1:10-15; 5:21; 13:20; and 14:7)

10. We will always remember to tithe on Sunday (Malachi 3:8-12) and remember that God blesses gifts above the tithe to worthy causes (Luke 6:38; II Corinthians 9:6-9).

These Rules and the Word of God Shall Be Observed at All Times Whether we are Home; Visiting; in the Car; or Wherever we Are. (Deuteronomy 6:5-9)
