GIANTS
Big. Dumb. Really, really nasty. Giants are almost more like the stereotype applied to ogres than ogres are. Like their blue cousins, giants are a breed of Thallain that emphasizes brutality and bullying, and, like most bullies, they aren't all that bright. Fighting a giant is a losing proposition, and even the nastiest redcap will think twice before taking on a giant one-on-one. Giants are the thallain equivalent of a redcap, as if there needed to be one.
Appearance Giants are big. Very big. They average 6'6" to 7' in the mortal world, and add around two feet chimerically. Their skin is grayish-pink and bulbous, and their hair tends towards reddish-black. A fool might mistake one for a redcap - once.
Seemings - Childings are young bullies, picking on other children and stealing their lunch money. Discipline doesn't work against them, and they're too dumb to deal with on an intelligent level. Generally, teachers and parents alike despair of ever teaching them anything. - Wilders are juvenile delinquents, hanging out with smarter bullies and lending muscle to their reigns. They love to pick on littler people, and often end up in foster homes or juvenile court if they stay at home. Many run away and join gangs. - Grumps are rare. Most giants don't live that long. Those that do are holy terrors, ready to use their strength for any cause if it will get them the ability to pick on others.
Affinity Actor Birthrights - Might of the Mountains- Giants are very big, and very, very strong. All giants gain +1 dot of chimeric strength as a childling, +2 as a wilder, and +3 as a grump. They also all gain one soak die against all damage they can normally soak. - Nasty - Giants are extremely intimidating. All Intimidation rolls are made at -1 difficulty. Giants can never botch Strength or Intimidation rolls. Frailties - Dumb as hell - Giants are really, really stupid. All Giants must pay double in freebies/experience/attribute points to buy Intelligence, Wits, or Manipulation, and they can never have ratings in these Attributes higher than 3. - Nasty - Giants can't stop being nasty, even if they want to. They lose one die from all Social rolls except for Intimidation and similar styles.
Quote "You know what, pal? I don't like you. In fact, I think that I really don't like you. And when I don't like something, I break it. Badly."
Relations with Others It should go without saying that most kiths don't hang out with Giants much. Even for Thallain, they're brutish and unsubtle. Despite this, there are a few kiths that deserve special mention when dealing with the big morons, and they are: Redcaps - Redcaps don't much care for giants. Despite the damage they can do, they're just too dumb to properly interact with. Still, it can be very useful to have a giant along for backup, and redcaps are always willing to use advantages. More than one redcap leader controls a group due to a loyal giant backing him up - as long as the giant doesn't get annoyed, at least. Trolls - Trolls take special pains to destroy any giants they come across, considering them vile brutes that must be destroyed. In fact, troll activities are one of the things that has kept the giant population very low.
