The Unwilling Hero

Background:
     You had a fairly normal childhood. In fact, it was a good one. You had a lot of friends, your parents coddled you, and generally, you were isolated from the pain of the world, mostly seeing its good side. By the time you reached high school, a good attitude was so ingrained in you that even when exposed to the darker side of the world, you tended to react positively. Some found this annoying, but you netted yourself a lot of friends, who enjoyed being around you.
     Things went bad on your eighteenth birthday. While you were hanging out with your friends, just having a good time, the lights went out. In the darkness, things moved, leaping out to attack. As you stumbled backwards, screaming in fright, you felt a weight in your hands, and suddenly you were holding a glowing sword. The creatures, seeing this, screamed and fled. Looking around, you saw that you had turned into some sort of animal person, and some of your friends looked strange, too. That's when you learned that you were a fae, the reincarnation of an ancient hero, and that it was your duty to defeat a powerful evil. Just one problem, though - you aren't cut out to be a hero, you don't want to be a hero, and most people don't give you the benifit of the doubt, because you're a pooka.
Roleplaying Hints:
      Around strangers, you're shy. You don't want people to think that you're reaching, or to draw attention to yourself. With your friends, you're cheerful and outgoing, because you know that they won't judge you. You haven't quite decided what to do about this whole hero thing, but you're begining to suspect that you can't just sweep it under the rug. Get very uncomfortable when people try to place responsibility on you. Your lies tend towards understatement.
