                                                               SEMI FINALS

Flagler 3 - St. Thomas 2 F/OT
As it turned out it was the last W some of us earned as Flagler players, and my god what a win it was. Without Big Uncle Denny Coach Lynch had to turn to center forward Scott Herlihy to fill the right full-back position. Herlihy partnered Niall, Stalin and Brandon at the back. Seany Frye kept his place on the right hand side, half fit and ankle troubled Caleb Cooper gave everything he could out left with myself and Johan in the center. Attackers were All Conference star Zoltan Ferencz who lined up next to Flagler's all time leading scorer, Steven Nyarady.
First goal of the game was St. Thomas'. 1-0 down at our house is something we don't like too much so I had to bend in a Frimannsson trademark free-kick to level the score. Beckham who! 1-1. St. Thomas appeared to have the upper hand and got another goal in the second half. Absolutely brilliant effort from Nyarday on the cross to Zoltan got us back into the game and it stayed 2-2 for the remainder of regulation. Several hundred Flagler fans created a tremendeous atmosphere and before our game the girl's team had just defeated Riddle on PK's.
The overtime didn't last long until "The Miracle Shot" was introduced. Ball flicked from Nyarday fell onto my very strong right foot which lead to the highlight of my Flagler career. A ridiculous right footed belter from 20 yards hammered past the keeper and in off the post. Golden Goal!
It took all our energy to overcome St. Thomas and that's the way it had to be. It was a great win to get but the day after we felt the tiredness.

Flagler 0 - Embry Riddle 5

Embry Riddle played us for the Regional Championship and at the end of the day it was the last Flagler College game ever for 8 senior players including myself, Niall McGuirk, Zoltan Ferencz, Steven Nyarady, Caleb Cooper, Pete Mychalcewycz, Jeremy Gleason and Christian Stalin. What a way to end our career. We started this season with a 5-0 loss at the hands of UCF and ended the season on the same note. 5-0 loss in the championship game. Not really too much to report about the game. They wanted it more than we did and overall were the better of the two sides, and obviously benefited from their easy win over Northwood the day before. Runners up in Region 14 is the result at the end of the 2003 season for John Lynch and the Flagler College Men's Soccer Team.
