| September 20th Winter Park, Orlando Kickoff 7.00pm Rollins 4 - Flagler 3 It's really not fun to lose games, especially after six consecutive wins. It was a very good football match between two skillful sides. Despite the loss there were some brilliant individual performances. Inside the first 5 minutes Zola had not only scored one but also created a breakaways for Nyarady and himself. A 1-0 early lead gave us some confidence and it looked like we were en route to a great game. However the equaliser came right before the half when a 30 rocket launch was too much for Peter Young to handle. The second half saw more goals but unfortunately the majority came at the wrong end. Zola showed that he's back to his very best as he scored another one before setting Nyarady up for one too. The Rollins team managed to scramble home three more goals to secure their win. The loss was a disappointement especially when goalkeeper Peter Young was having, as Coach put it, "the game of his life". Also Zola was absolutely brilliant and he was responsible for all three goals and most of the chances created by the Flagler team. As we are now ONLY second in the conference trailing rivals Embry Riddle it is time to step up our game in order to prove that we belong among the nation's elite. One last thing; on behalf of the whole team I'd like to say that Mr. and Mrs. Parsons throw a great party! It's some gaff they have down there. Thanks a million for that. For those interested in the word "gaff" should swing by Niall's gaff and ask the gaffer for a definiton of the word gaff. Man of the Match: Zola's amazing attacking ability and Pete Young's incredible talent are some of the biggest factors that make our team as good as it is. At Rollins both these lads were at their best so they share the 1964 bottle of Irish Whiskey that comes with the MoM honor. (Isn't that the year Zola was born?) Enjoy. Play of the day: Once again Steve made the headlines with his goal celebration. First it was the Henry shirt toss and now he lifted his jersey and displayed an "I Love NY" t-shirt. No one can tell what Steve has planned for next game. Cheers. |
